Stunning, serene, rustic house in the woods near Spring Green, Wisconsin

Built in 1976, this Frank Lloyd Wright apprentice designed home is nestled in the rolling hills of the Wisconsin River valley on 30 acres of old hardwood forest and restored native prairie. Open floor plan living room, dining room and kitchen with soaring 18 foot ceilings, skylights and vintage wood stove. Sliding glass doors open to a 400 square foot deck suspended in the trees over looking the pond below. Recently remodeled kitchen and bathrooms. Kitchen with gas range, full size refrigerator, microwave, dish washer and stocked pantry. Outdoor gas grill. 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed and full bath. spacious closets, linens and towels.
Half way between Spring Green and Dodgeville. Approximately 12 miles to American Players Theatre, downtown Spring Green and Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin. 50 miles to Madison.

Beautiful place, well provisioned, quiet, convenient to Spring Green and APT, pet friendly (we had a couple of standard poodles that had a great time exploring), good beds and shower (essential!), and very easy communication with the host. Would happily stay here again.

Beautiful property in an amazing off the beaten path location. Very drivable to area attractions like downtown Spring Green and American Players Theater. Large deck with cute lights to enjoy the evenings, lots of vintage furnishings, and everything you'd need in the kitchen. Great stay!

Wonderful place out in nature to get away and unplug. Spent sunny days on the deck that felt like a treehouse and cool nights inside by the fireplace. The house was comfortable and well appointed.

We went for a weekend and stayed in this beautiful place. It is exquisitely decorated and has everything that you could possibly want. We saw shooting stars, as the night sky was perfectly dark without city lights. We were only a five minute drive to Spring Green for shopping and sightseeing. This felt both totally remote and convenient, and such a gorgeous house!!

Beautiful Woodland Stay

We seek a remote and quiet property every Fourth of July. This home fit the bill perfectly. It was well appointed, comfortable and stylish. Lush surroundings were peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely stay again!

Relaxing getaway

The Driftless region is one of our favorites areas in WI. The cabin is beautifully decorated and located in a peaceful setting. We enjoyed relaxing and bird-watching on the large deck. Hope to be back soon!

Idyllic retreat to get away

My husband and pets absolutely loved our time here. It is nestled in amongst the trees and was the perfect location to unplug and get away. It was exactly what we needed. The house is beautiful and we could sit and watch the birds and deer from the living room.

Perfect getaway!

I was looking for a place to stay near House On The Rock, and this property was perfect! Very clean and comfortable, while still rustic with lots of character. We'd definitely go back, especially to see the other seasons. As all the other reviews mention, it is so fun to watch the bird feeders!

Beautiful Weekend Stay

We have stayed here a few times and loved every second of it. The cabin is warm and cozy, the deck is perfect to sit out on in the morning with coffee and to watch the birds, or in the afternoon for some quiet time. It is a wonderful place to get away.

A Little Bit of ShangriLa for those who love being away from it all...

This is our third stay at Phyllis's little slice of heaven. I will not reinvent the wheel by repeating words from our former visit reviews, but I will say that for anyone who loves staying in a well furnished (historical) home with super comfy beds and a well equipped kitchen -- while still being able to bring your four legged friend and still get away from it all -- this is your place.It is certainly our ShangriLa, and we love that Phyllis provides access to such a wonderful dog-friendly home to get away from it all!!

Fantastic cabin

It was a great holiday weekend! We were able to unplug, explore the area, and spend time cooking and playing board games in this charming and cozy cabin. Highly recommend, and will be back!

Anniversary Getaway

This was the perfect property to enjoy our wedding anniversary. We were close to everything we wanted to experience (Taliesen tour, American Players Theater, restaurants in Spring Green), but were able to embrace peace and quiet as well.
