“This hotel gets very mixed reviews, which seem to me to reflect guests' differing expectations. The good points. The people who run it are incredibly nice and very helpful. Breakfast is excellent. Rooms are a bit tired and old, but nobody should be surprised by that. They are spotlessly clean, very quiet, and surprisingly cool during the heatwave in June 2026. The hotel is very convenient for the Goethe Theatre. The not so good points. You have to phone them to unlock the door and check……

“Alles in allem eine gute Wahl. Ruhige Lage. Sehr nettes Personal!

“You can tell the building has aged but it’s actually very clean from inside out. Breakfast is great value - it’s better than many other more expensive hotels. We went for a business trip and so the location was perfect. No complaints.”

“Einfache, saubere Zimmer. Preis - Leistungsverhältnis passt super”

“Leckeres Frühstück und sehr freundliches Personal. Tolle Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel (Nahverkehr im Preis inbegriffen)”

“Nice and Clean Hotel but Wifi some times not work well.”

“Room cleaning service was a no-show. (nor was there a please do not disturb/ make up room) sign there for use on the door. Whereas the room was okay clean, the trip to the room, w/o elevator, was a long trek along always dirty, worn pathways. It's difficult to conceive of how or why a hotel would leave its extensive carpeting un-vacuumed. As noted, we dealt with two quite nice staff, one of whom was also competent. Other staff, including the Manager, were incredibly rude, curt, and……
