“Quaint and cozy cabin on a beautiful property! The cabin was very clean and comfortable. Communication from the host was excellent. We would definitely stay again. Wish we could have stayed longer! Just a note that once on the island there is only one bar that serves food, and one nice little store that has a good variety of necessities, so plan accordingly.”

“We loved everything about our stay. We had gone up to go to the I-500, but decided to stay right where we were, it was so peaceful and lovely. The host is most generous and very hospitable. “Did we enjoy our stay? Yes Would we like to stay there again? Yes But the cabin may not be for everyone. Others have commented on deferred maintenance, and you may find window-coverings/windows/window locks that don't work well or at all, flaking paint on the bathroom ceiling, duct tape on the floor, or shaky railings outside. “Our family of nine vacationed for a week. Fantastic time, enjoyed the property. Plenty to do without leaving-basketball, swimming, fire pit, sun rises, canoeing, simply relaxing! But, close enough to take a couple day trips. (We went to Mackinac City and Tahquamenon Falls)The hosts were amazing! Always around and a pleasure to sit and talk with.”

“We loved our fall getaway at this adorable cabin. The fall colors were gorgeous and the weather couldn't have been better! Sunny and cool temperatures so we could explore the area comfortably as a family with our 2 dogs. We especially loved seeing the freighters lumber past the cabin- our favorite times were lounging on the huge porch early in the morning and late at night when the lights from the freighters drifted past. “Rustic cabin on Lake Huron. Less expensive than lots of other nearby places. Has everything you need and nothing you don’t. Hot water is iffy, hook and eye locks only. 2 bedroom cabin with small kitchen and bathroom just feet from the lake. ”

“My partner, dog and I came to sugar island to experience a new place in the UP and we will certainly be returning to Sweet Retreat!! Sheri and Jeff were the most accommodating of hosts and truly go above and beyond to ensure everyone’s comfort and fun. We used the bikes on the property and were lucky enough to take a pontoon cruise with the hosts our last night. The cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything we needed. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough! We can’t wait to come back!”

We had a quiet peaceful stay on this beautiful property! Close enough to visit other areas such as taquanimin falls, white fish point , we even tried yooperlite hunting . We will definitely me coming back here to stay!!”
