This was our first time in Barcelona and we absolutely loved it! Our experience of staying at Hotel Espana was excellent. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome. The decor of the hotel is a mix between modern and period which is lovely. We were upgraded via the VIP programme through Expedia which was a lovely touch as we did not expect it! This included a larger room and a free welcome drink on the rooftop bar. Our room was cleaned daily with all the essential we needed. There is free water and juice in the mini fridge replenished daily. We visited the bar one evening which is definetly worth doing. The decor is awesome and the staff were so inviting and helpful. The hotel itself is located just off Ramblas and perfectly within a 2 minute walk to Liceu metro station which allowed us to get the underground around the city. This is extremely easy to do and is much like the London underground. The city is best explored via walking! Thank you all for making our stay comfortable and lovely :)
