It was an excellent base for our side trips to Poitiers, Tours and La Rochelle. In several rooms, here are copies of a well researched book (in French) telling the amazing history of the chateau. "The castle is beautiful, located in a charming little village. The room was clean, quiet, bed comfortable. It has a relatively small bathroom with small shower located in a corner. The toilets are separated to the right of the fire place. We did not eat at the restaurant because we were not hungry enough. The menu only offered expensive choices. No coffee machine or mini fridge in the room. "
