The staff was mostly wonderful, especially the young man shuttle driver who picked me up in a car. He was very friendly, enthusiastic, humorous, and helpful. His name escapes me, but he had a Hanuman image for his WhatsApp account (for airport pickup).
Communication via Expedia messages before arriving was minimum and unhelpful, until I contacted Expedia support, who then contacted the front desk.
The front desk supervisor or manager sincerely apologized upon arrival, explaining that they didn’t realize I had sent messages until Expedia contacted them.
But I’m mentioning this in the review just in case it happens again to another guest.
Unfortunately, my initial room had dozens of tiny, long, black bugs moving around on the bed, which is why this review was downgraded.
I don’t want to leave a high rated review just in case management doesn’t resolve the root cause of this issue, and another guest ends up having the same experience.
I’m giving a very fair 3 star review since:
1) the front desk supervisor or manager handled the situation in a professional manner, by moving me to a different room that didn’t have any bugs.
2) most of the staff were genuinely kind and helpful, especially the bellhop staff and room + restaurant servers
3) this place was decent and overall clean, though the building itself is older and a bit worn down than it appears in the photos
4) I really appreciated free shuttle (car) service being available even very early in the morning (5 am)
