Just everything was perfect! Thanks to some amazing hosts, I had a relaxed, rejuvenating, and wonderful time watching the islands and the sun slowly go down over them.

We opted to stay in Barrel Factory room. What a huge disappointment! I would NOT RECOMMEND staying in Barrel Factory. You don’t even feel like you are a part of the hotel as you have to go to different bldg that looks old and run down. The staff was giving directions how to get there and finally decided to show us (good thing because we would not have found door on side). The room is pretty much just a bed (with no headboard) and old little couch and table that is so scratched. See picture of room. We did decide to have dinner at their restaurant, which was delicious. Breakfast was not much of a selection and shoved in a tiny corner and breakfast staff was very aloof.

Great place. We enjoyed staying at this property more than anything in our Norway trip. Owner of the property was very nice and helpful.

Mixed... some staff were above and beyond some made us feel uncomfortable especially in the evening restaurant. Wine was a thimbleful pour and then never asked about if we wanted another so steak was washed down with water. Just a very odd experience in there... tables bunched together and our feet didn't touch the floor which is very uncomfortable all evening. Breakfast staff very friendly and food was lovely but got old after several days of exactly the same choice. Especially as one didn't like croissants which took several choices away. Hotel is eclectic and FABULOUS decor wise... and they definitely rely on that for wow factor ...very impressive for a couple days but don't stay longer. Didn't realize they had a speakeasy until our last night, that was fun place to visit. Yvette champagne bar looked gorgeous but was always empty. And no staff to serve. Room was great.. cleaning was okay for example carpet clearly not vacuumed.. as we saw same bits all week. Shower leaked out into the floor. We enjoyed Bergen and the hotel, the staff (especially breakfast staff) were mostly fantastic/ very friendly but for the price we would try another hotel next time. We have been traveling 2 months and this was our last stay. Most expensive and definitely not in the top 5. (Or 10 actually)
