Bennington Vacations from $571

I arrived at 2 PM to check in and they told me my room was being cleaned and that check-in is at 3pm. I returned around 4 pm and they asked me if I received a message from Expedia. SUCH COWARDS! They wouldn’t even say what the message said. I opened up my email and 26 minutes prior. There was a cancellation message that they could accommodate me. I read it aloud and I said does that mean you don’t have a room for me even though when I came at two, you said you were cleaning it. They acted like they had no idea what I was talking about and just kept saying that they didn’t have a room. They were slimy and clearly gave my room away for a better rate. But it was probably a blessing in disguise because the grounds were absolutely disgusting and the hotel looks abandoned and nothing like the pictures. There’s a big empty pool with junk in it. And the whole building looks like it’s falling down. It seems like it’s a family business and they function on being deceiving.

Great Stay. Unique, beautiful, and historic property!

My friend and I stayed at the Mansion for 10 days and it was a joy! The breakfasts are really gourmet and really kept us nourished until the late afternoon. The staff were very good natured and helpful. The room was comfortable and very clean. I heard no noise from inside the hotel though I was in a front-facing room and there was some street noise. The parking lot across the street was very convenient. Also, the location to restaurants is amazing. We walked quite a bit through the Elmwood neighborhood quite a bit and were routinely delighted in all the beautiful houses and hidden shops and bar/restaurants.

The Roycroft Inn is unique and provides a respite place with history. The restaurant had excellent food that is part of the Inn. The Roycroft campus across the street is very interesting and worth a walk through and tour. The Inn has an incredible collection of arts and craft furniture in the main rooms as well as the sleeping rooms. Overall the property could use a refresh, new carpet and painting and a scrubbing. The bones of the places are great, but the interiors are tired.
