We chose this hotel as we wanted a quiet night away not too far from home and away from the busy tourist areas and it didn’t disappoint. It’s hard to judge a place on a quiet weeknight in November but we had a lovely stay. The room was lovely and clean with everything we needed. Dinner was great even if very quiet but to be expected this time of the year. Breakfast was freshly cooked and a large range of things in the buffet. Plenty of fresh coffee offered at regular intervals. All the staff we met were so nice and friendly and professional. As I have worked in hotels and most recently as a housekeeper I notice any little things that are often overlooked but I was fully relaxed and everywhere was clean and tidy and there was nothing that would put me off from going there again.

Lovely stay in The Ruskin room Good shower Fluffy towels Tea and coffee and cute bottle milk Just missing a few biscuits( cheeky) Single paned shash windows bit noisy/ cold in the bathroom/ bay window .Lovely scenery 4pm bit late for checking in and would like a 11am check out would be beneficial. Staff efficient and welcoming. Ability to park and easily walk in to Ambleside was very convenient. Room was small but this is what we paid for and it had everything you needed and was very quiet being at the top of the property. Breakfast was good and service was quick and friendly.

Location a big plus for this hotel. At over £200 per night it’s well overpriced for what it is. It has a spa and pool which was a big reason why we booked this vs other hotels but after booking got a mail about stay advising kids not allowed in pool after 5pm which was around when we arrived. Mailed hotel about this before arrival but no reply. Breakfast ok but not fantastic, service a little slow. No air con in room, tv not great and £25 for over night parking!
