Come to find out, this place caters to hikers of the Appalachian Trail which is where the good reviews come from. We ended up checking out after a few hours at a rehearsal dinner elsewhere and just driving the hour and 15 minutes home for the night because the room was so poor. Bed was squeaky and you could feel the springs underneath. Walls were stained and some in the hallway were lacking paint. The whole place including our room smelled musty and smoky. Toilet and tub need replaced or resurfaced. Both were badly stained. There was no way we could have comfortably stayed the night here. Very pretty building outside and in. The owner is super friendly and will tell you all sorts of information about the place, as he is the one that saved it and restored it. He’ll also play you a song on his restores juke box. Room was nice and clean. Air worked well. Bed was firm but comfy. Softest towels ever! Only issue was it took awhile for the shower water to get hot (maybe it was just a fluke that night), and it would be nice to have an individual coffee machine/cups in the room. We arrived super late. But there was someone to take care of us and provided wonderful accommodations. This place should be o. The National Historic Register! Very friendly staff and we cornered the Inn proprietor and got to hear a lot more of the history which was very cool. Did have a mini fridge. Bathroom & shower in particular was very small. It was comfortable enough and fine if you’re hiking, hunting or fishing the area. They have dinner & local music every Thursday that I missed unfortunately but sounds like fun.
