The staff at the Cassandra Hotel are very nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and highly serviceable for trips to Vancouver. The picture of the hotel rooms and lobby are different from the website, so it was a bit of a shock that it seemed very shabby when I arrived and not what I expected. It is very dated and initially there is a sense it might not be clean. It is clean, but rundown.
There isn't any staff on duty from 10:30 pm until 7am, so if you're late checking in, that could be tricky. Also, the check-in & checkout are all done through codes provided through messages. If your phone's low on battery or there's any issue with the codes, it is a very challenging situation.
When I arrived, the code provided initially didn't work, so I needed staff to get the code synced properly. They were great about this and lovely to deal with.
For a basic hotel that is inexpensive (for Vancouver) and covers basic needs well, this is your place. As a final note, the shower had amazing pressure and was a highlight.
