We had a great view from 5th floor balcony overlooking Calea Victoria. Quiet as we were up high. Great to have a bottle of wine and watch the day turn to night. Great location. Amazing breakfast.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
I met a few members of the hotel staff and they were all lovely and friendly. The breakfast was quite basic but fine, and the small cafe/bar at the entrance was a nice place to sit for a while and relax. The room was spacious - I did not expect to have a version, living room, separate toilet and a bathroom so that was a nice surprise. The location was perfect and I was able to walk everywhere.
For these reasons, I am regret that I need to give a bad review only because of one, but a significant reason. The hotel claims to be non-smoking, and even confirmed this adter booking in a message. However, it has clearly not been like this forever and the hotel reeks of cigarettw smoke. I joined a workshop held in one of the meeting rooms, and already during the second day I was having hard time breathing due to my mild asthma, all because of the residual smoke. Also all my clothing smelled bad after only three nights there. I understand that it's an old building and there's only so much you can do, but changing the carpets, curtains and furniture and painting the walls would already help quite a bit. I would love to recommend this hotel, but now I simply cannot. At least mention before booking that smoking has been allowed sometime before, please.
The air conditioning only worked when the card was in the power slot so when returning from walking in 35 plus degree heat to a hot room was most disappointing. Some of the staff could have been friendlier but that could be a statement that generally applies to Romanians we met. Most guest were Romanian which shows how good the Capitol is and value for money. I would recommend it to anyone

You get what you pay for. The location is walking distance from the Old Town and Piata Urini, the city's center. The room is small but sufficient for one person. Tiny bathroom typical of old European buildings. The water stream in the shower is meager. Don't count on the shower gel offered by the hotel. There is no place for a laptop to work with. The room is overcrowded with items for sale, mostly alcoholic beverage.
There are two bus lines in walking distance, and with a daily pass going around the city is inexpensive and convenient. I bought a 3 days pass for 20 RON and it was the bargain of the decade for me.
WARNING: when the hotel quotes a service price for you, always double check the denomination: is it in Euro or RON?
Will I go there again? probably not my first choice but I wouldn't rule it out.
It was a nice stay. The location was very convenient and the building is beautiful. The rooms are a bit dated but it helps add to the historical atmosphere. Also, the water and snack items in your room are not included but I indulged anyway. I would stay here again.
I highly recommend this hotel. It is in central location, high streets, cafes/restaurants/museums are all within walking distance. The restaurant serves good food. And the staff at the reception is super friendly.
The hotel is beautiful and centrally located. Due to a delayed arrival at Bucharest Otopeni airport, my Check-in was after midnight. The receptionist did not give me a warm welcome, not friendly, unhappy that he had to work late at night. Moreover, he gave me a twin-bed room, instead of a room with a Queen size bed that I had paid for. However, next morning the Manager was very apologetic and seemed genuinely sorry /ashamed for this situation. Overall it is a great hotel and only with that Manager in mind, (he is a great professional!!), I will come back to stay there again and I recommend it to everyone who want to enjoy the very heart of lovely Bucharest.
The location is ideal to explore the city centre, it is close to so many museums and galleries. the one thing that was not ideal is the food in most cases fish or egg dishes were overcooked. Also my experience with their fish soup was not good. other than that it was a lovely stay and would probably come back again.
Checked me in no problems at 3am and offered me a late check out which declined as I had things to do.
Staff where super friendly and went out of their way to help next morning.
The staff is really trying but I don't think they are qualified to face the challenges of a 4-stars hotel. This is a decent 3-star hotel at best. Unlike in other nearby hotels, what I thought was particularly lacking here was an atmosphere of cosmopolitanism. They seem to cater for regulars and I felt, as a first-timer in the place, like an outsider. For similar prices you can get much better a few yards down the road. I think it would be important to highlight the following: my request for a room with a view was not honoured in spite of having been made about a month in advance. The main view was the derelict side of a communist building about to be demolished or simply left to decay. There were no belts for the bathrobes. The bathrobes were synthetic and fleecy. There was no full-body mirror in my room. There were no tea-bags. Bathroom of my apartment didn't have a tub. I don't know any 4-stars hotels with apartments without a tub. Bathroom was tiny. TVs were tiny for 4-stars. The hotel overall din not reflect the upbeat culture of contemporary Bucharest, nor did it reflect its traditions. A soft and somewhat fake version of those tradition is being attempted here but without much gusto. An unremarkable hotel where I did not feel special.
