Hotel Marienthal provided a functional stay, but there were several drawbacks that kept it from being a better experience.
The room was clean and served its purpose, but the beds were not particularly comfortable, and the pillows were so thin that they were almost non-existent. We were also only given one room key card, which was inconvenient for a family traveling together.
One thing to be aware of is that the reception desk closes at 6:30 PM. After that, there is essentially no one available to assist with questions or issues, which can be frustrating if something comes up in the evening.
The breakfast was disappointing and not worth the extra cost in our opinion. The selection was very limited, consisting mostly of cold cuts with only a small amount of hot food available. The coffee machine was probably the highlight of the breakfast experience.
The hotel does have a nice park directly across the street, which provides a pleasant view and a quiet atmosphere. However, beyond that, the location is not especially convenient or walkable, and most attractions require additional transportation.
Overall, Hotel Marienthal is adequate if you're simply looking for a place to sleep, but there are several areas where the guest experience could be improved.
