Ocean View, Fiber Internet, Walk to beach

There is something magical about the sound of the waves splashing against the sand. The way the melodic sound takes your mind to the most restful space. There is a peace that the ocean breeze brings with it, and that is just what our humble beach cabin provides. For those that need to stay connected, you will enjoy the fiberoptic wireless internet.

Just steps from the water, located on a large and lush private property sits this hidden little rustic gem we are thrilled to share. High-Speed Fiber keeps you connected, while the sound of the waves lets you relax.

The space
There are two units on separate floors and with separate entrances. Each unit includes its own private bathroom and simple but complete kitchens. Everything you need, but very basic.

This listing is for the downstairs portion of the property, with two bedrooms and a private kitchen and bathroom, along with lovely porch and of course, the view.

There is a comfortable Queen bed in one of the bedrooms and the other bedroom has two twin beds with crisp linens.

There is also a sofa in the living room and we can provide a sleeping mat for a 5th guest if needed.

Relaxing stay on black sand beach on the Caribbean
Quiet, secluded cottage with great yard on the beach. Many good restaurants, shops, groceries nearby. Easy access to other great beaches, a national park and wildlife nature preserve. Liked watching the leaf cutting ants and observing green and blue black spotted little poison dart frogs along with other wildlife in the back yard.

Caribbean Cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage. We walked the beach into town just once and took a tuk tuk home otherwise we did drive into town during our stay and toured around the area. There are two restaurants just a short walk from the cottage, one is on the beach which has live music occasionally. Lots to do in the area. We zip lined & toured the Cahuita National Park and enjoyed a couple waterfalls in the area. We spent 7 nights of our 18 day CR adventure at this cottage, they had the best hammocks! Wish I would have bought one! Great outdoor space! The only surprise was that there is another rental upstairs and it was occupied for 2 nights of our stay. Met a very nice couple from Montreal and they invited us up for drinks! Great Caribbean cottage 👍

Loved the location of this place, the beach is beautiful and quiet. The property is run down and needs a lot of work. Signs of termite damage throughout the property. Lots of holes in the screens and windows that are missing parts so they don’t keep out the wild life. Mainly the mosquitos and bugs. The metal doors are all rusted from the salty air and need to be replaced soon.

Fantastic Costa Rica Carribean Experience
As many other reviews have stated, this is a fantastic location for a stay in Puerto Viejo for up to 5! The owners and local manager Susanna provided wonderful local information. The house is not fancy, but very clean, inviting and secure. The backyard porch with hammocks looking out on, and only steps to, the Playa Negra beach with a backyard garden with resident 3 toed sloths and colorful frogs was an unforgettable part of our vacation (even with all the amazing travel things we did locally). Can't more highly recommend!

You'll have a great stay here. The property is prefecto. The bed sheets are clean. It's coastal living for sure since you are using a septic system...all considerations associated with that. Rent some bikes and you have plenty to do...or not do. :) Muchas gracias Susana for greeting us and helping us with travel to and from Limon!

Location to Beach Makes Cottage Amazing
Pros: proximity to beach and Banana Azul… beach is secluded… house is charming…. Bed comfortable… full kitchen… good water pressure… box fans if warm days… great porch with hammocks… came with surfboard and boogie board… old fashioned washing machine was nice to have… Susana was very nice and helpful. Cons: told of robbery of previous guests… junk items should be thrown out… bathroom adequate but needs cosmetic improvements… could hear upstairs tenants but not an issue.

We really enjoyed our stay. Playa Negra is very secluded. The house is right on the beach. You can walk to Banana Azul on the beach for a drink or food. Going into Puerto Viejo is only about 10min. The property is very private and lush. It is rustic but has everything you need.

Our Costa Rican Home Away from Home
Not many VRBOs in the Puerto Viejo are RIGHT on the beach. This one is. You have a private bit a paradise all to yourselves. This is the 2nd time we've rented this property. We have stayed on the ground floor unit. We love how this place is on the beach, private, close to town. It's comfy and has all we need to relax beachside for a week or more. Love it and hope this bit of paradise stays available for a long time.

Beach Bliss
The stay was everything promised. Susanna met us and showed us how to operate everything and how to lock up. Her adorable dog came by to say hello and went down to the water to play with us one afternoon. Both made it feel like home, just for a few days. Our upstairs neighbors were friendly but unobtrusive; it was easy to be private, but not difficult to link up when we wanted to socialize. While of course neighbors will vary, the fact that we were so separate but so easy to check in on will apply to anyone. The cottage is homey, with good cross breezes and fans to keep the air moving even in high humidity. The kitchen has just enough to cook simple meals, and the fridge holds plenty and gets very cold. The back patio is where the dream lives--you can see the water from the porch, and you can string a hammock and laze the day away. The beach behind the house is gorgeous, smooth, and very low traffic. Walk to town along the sand; you won't be sorry you did. The owner reached out to check on us, and the few times we needed advice or help, it was either in the guest book or Susanna and Pedro helped arrange it. Even our tour company knew "Casa Fiesta" and were able to reach out to help make smooth transfers. Town tip: the sodas and street food vendors (at night) are cheap and delicious. Roadside fruits and veg are even cheaper than the grocery and great if you plan to use within a day or two. Evenings are fun if you enjoy the street busking/hustling, backpacker and expat types. We would return, and are already talking about how and when. Thanks for everything. Pura vida!

Charming simple house in an absolutely perfect spot
The location cannot be beat. You go out the back door, across the lawn, and on to the beach. It is gorgeous. It is an easy 15 minute walk on the beach to town or five minute bike ride on the road. The town is great. Enough foreigners and size to have what you want like tasty food and good coffee, but small enough to be completely manageable and not too crazy. These are not the placid Caribbean seas of some of the islands. The waves can be pretty big and the water can be rough. We often went down to town to swim by the barge because the water there is much, and it was more fun for the kids. We did not feel that the water it was dangerous, just that it was kind of choppy and Sandy sometimes. the house itself is charming and has everything you need. There is a fabulous porch that has two hammocks a rocking chair and a table where we spent most of our time. We were in the downstairs two bedroom unit. there are tons of linens and towels at your disposal and the apartment is very clean. It is quite worn and the lighting is very basic but it absolutely served our needs. Again the kitchen has everything you need but nothing fancy. The shower works very well and was hot and had good pressure. There is a basic washing machine in the storeroom and clothes dry on the line very quickly in this climate. Suzanna, the property manager, lives two doors down with her teenage daughter and her absolutely fabulous dog, Asia. Suzanna was extremely helpful and neighborly. She knows everything and everyone about the area and is happy to give advice. she was absolutely wonderful with our children, helped us find a Spanish tutor for them, and even babysat one night so my husband and I could go on a date. She really helps make the experience.she speaks fluent English as she grew up in the United States but has lived in Costa Rica for 30 years. If you are looking for a gorgeous, low-key spot in a fabulous laid-back and not overrun by tourists part of Costa Rica I would recommend this place. We were there for a month and loved it. There were plenty of outings to go on and the people were so nice.

This was the perfect home base. Great location right on a beautiful beach just north of downtown.
We had an incredible family vacation in Puerto Viejo, in large part due to the recommendations and service we received from the property manager, Susanna. She is a warm and generous lady who went out of her way to ensure that everything was in order and that we enjoyed our stay. Her dog, Asia, was a HUGE hit with our kids! It’s worth getting a frisbee just to play with her on the beach. The location is ideal for us. Right on a beautiful beach and within walking distance of a great restaurant. It is just north of town (two minutes to downtown by car) and is quiet, but still very conveniently located. Overall we have no complaints and are already looking at our timing to go back. We would definitely stay in the same place.

Our stay in Puerto Viejo was absolutely amazing! The house was just right for my father and I, it's pretty close to the town so we rode our bikes to enjoy great food and fun. Will be returning! Susana was a great help , and was always available to help. Nothing but great vibes, great people, and a amazing trip! ¡Pura Vida!

How lucky were we?!
We had a hankering for Costa Rica, the beach and some waves. With very little research, I chose to take my family (with kids age 9 and 11) to Puerto Viego. Why? Cause it's far from the crowds of turistas. And the swimming is nice. So I opened up VRBO, logged on and searched beyond hope for a home on the beach. Lucked out with Pedro's. Right price and on the beach. Booked a week and then we'd wing it from there. Well, we got there and were greated by host Susana and her adorable dog, Asia. This home is also adorable. And seriously right on the beach. A little lawn, a tad of jungle and bit of black sand and then the water. So very ideal. We loved, loved, loved it. So much that we stayed another week! And the dog, Asia, loved us too. So it was like a VRBO that came with the best dog. Asia body surfs, catches frisbies, eats left overs and crawls under the bed during thunderstorms. Oh! and she's a coconut retriever. If you just need 2 rooms, a kitchen, a perfect hammocked porch and the beach, this place is it. Book it now. Did I mention a 2 minute stroll down the sand to the nearest bar? With delicious smoothies? We absolutely loved Pedro's Place!
