Fabulous holiday accommodation

My daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at Casa das Flores. The house is amazing, set in beautiful grounds. Lovely pool, very private. Arco da Calheta is a perfect, central yet quiet holiday base to explore Madeira. The ocean view is just breathtaking!Great contact with the owners before travel. Super efficient check-in etc. We‘d love to stay again.

Beautiful house, fantastic views.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is very spacious, exceptionally well equipped with a really good kitchen and the beds were very comfortable. Plenty of hot water, although it takes a while to run hot. We particularly enjoyed log fires in the living room as it was actually quite cold while we were there. The only downside of our trip was that the weather wasn’t great while we were there. The flowers in the garden are exceptional, and particularly the scent of the gorgeous Jasmine bushes I shall never forget. All in all we very much enjoyed this house.

Second stay - which says it all!

We fell in love with this property last year and brought all the family this year. It’s so spacious, well appointed and clean, and for me the view, flowers and little garden make it special. We had 2 cars this year and used the helpful garage. Convenient location while still being so private. Hoping to return one day. Thank you!

Fantastic Holiday Location

Not often in life do you get to stay in a property of this quality in such a special location. The weather was almost perfect and we enjoyed two super weeks exploring Arco Da Calheta and Madeira. The pool and pool area at Casa Das Flores are amazing, we used the pool every day. The villa has everything you need come rain or shine. Access to walks and shops/bars from the door also a bonus. Our only critique was the noise from locals who appeared to be racing their cars at night near the property. Overall, a 5 star property in a fantastic location.

We had such a lovely holiday staying at Casa Da Flores. The location really was perfect for exploring the island but also loved that we could walk to a couple of local bars and shop. Calheta was great for a nice meal and a Dolphin/whale watching trip. Levadas are close by. The house was nicest one we have ever stayed in. The views were amazing and it had everything you needed. If we ever visited again we would have no reason to look anywhere else and would 100% recommend to anyone. Thankyou for the best holiday.

FABULOUS!

The property is beautiful and well kept. The owners are always available and the grounds keepers are great! wonderful area, beautiful island. Rent a car if you stay in this area to see the island , but you can always grab a cab if need too. They have everything in the house! huge beautiful windows for the best views! BBQ and pool area fantastic! I would recommend a pillow topper in the main bedroom bed its very firm, but that is my only "complaint" haha if that classifies as one. highly recommend!! This was so great we were 4 days into our holiday and rebooked for June next year!

Very nice house with fantastic view

Very spacious and well kept house with large pool, outdoor kitchen and stunning view over the ocean. Kitchen extremely well kept (Miele appliances). This would be a straight 5 stars, with one exception. The surrounding was not as quite as we have hoped. Several neighbours with yappy dogs and quite some traffic on the nearby street. Otherwise absolutely great!!!

Superb

Our second visit to Casa das Flores was much anticipated, having had such an enjoyable stay last year. This time it was really lovely walking in and seeing the fabulous view out over the banana plantations and the village of Arco to the wide expanse of ocean beyond. The large patio, so nicely furnished and with plenty of lush, colourful plants around and of course the generous sized pool which was kept at a very pleasant 27 degrees for the length of our stay. We appreciated the spacious, open plan layout of the living spaces, the extremely well equipped kitchen and comfortable seating areas. The villa is a fabulous base from which to explore the island and we had a wonderful holiday.

Perfect Paradise

We spent two weeks in the beautiful villa 'Casa das Flores' and loved every second of it. It's a real gem! Besides being spacious, spotlessly clean and very well equipped it is also perfectly situated to explore the countless beauties of Madeira. We travelled from North to South, and East to West, falling more in love with the island each day. But the highlight was always returning to this stunning villa. We enjoyed the heated pool and spent all our evenings watching the sunsets from the terrace. We even spotted dolphins down in the bay from our balcony. Thanks also to the hosts and the local team for making our stay this memorable. We can only recommend going there and hope to be back one day.

Stunning Gem!

The pictures do not do it justice is all I can say. The property is absolutely stunning and it really is made to feel like a home away from home! It is very spacious and light. We have fallen in love with Madeira and will be back soon. Even though it was December we had the most amazing weather and the pool was the perfect way to while away the hours. Not to mention the sunsets - from the comfort of the sofa or out by the pool! Nothing compares. We were sorely disappointed to leave before the fireworks. Our kids loved the lizards in the garden and had loads of fun feeding them. You will find everything you need in Calheta which is beautifully done up with the Christmas lights. We cannot wait to go back.

Wonderful house. Great stay!

We got off to a slightly rocky start, finding out only a couple of hours prior to checking in that the house was double booked. Not what we wanted to hear after 2 days of flying to get to Madeira! While this was disappointing, the owner did apologize profusely and respond quickly, accepting that this was a mistake at her end and booking us into a really nice local hotel for the first night. The next day, the move-in went smoothly. We were so glad to unpack our bags and relax. The house is beautiful, with a great view over the Atlantic. The pool is the ICING on the cake- long enough to swim lengths, private and heated if you need it (for a small upcharge. ) The house is very well kept up and very clean. It is also equipped with almost anything you could need, and feels like a home away from home. We would definitely stay here again. Only a couple of small points: there is no air conditioning- which was not a big problem for us, as it was October and nights were a little cooler, but in hotter weather, some might find it a little warm in the house. There are fans in most rooms. There are roller shutters, but no screen doors, so leaving all the doors open to let in a breeze can lead to a few geckos and mosquitos getting into the house… but not a big deal as we were outside on the deck by the pool most of the time.

Never gave bad review before…do NOT STAY IN JULY.

I have never left a bad review…anywhere. But you must know this. We left after 3 nights stay of no sleep due to a “cultural” celebration including Miley Cyrus and other artists of equivalent talent, mixed in with a Portuguese mass being BLASTED by concert loudspeakers from town center from 6pm until 2AM…yes 2AM. After 3 nights of this we were losing it. The owners who do not live locally could really care less. No forewarning that every July this occurs. After much discussion they refunded us $150 of our 2 week stay. It was confirmed by others in town to last an entire week. In addition,Calheta beach is not within walking distance and good luck finding parking..,paid parking…time limited…and the family friendly resort on that small beach was filled with chain smoking patrons…not a relaxing or healthy vibe…again, IF you can find parking. The house itself was spacious and lovely in spite of overuse of scented cleaning products. Keep in mind that going anywhere in Madeira requires numerous tunnel passages; winding roads and insane traffic circles. Tobacco use is everywhere.

Very lovely Villa in a beautiful location

We enjoyed our stay at the Villa very much. The Villa itself was very good and the local management people were also helpful and courteous. The location and views from the Villa were spectacular. This was our first visit to Madeira and we hope it won't be the last. I would recommend this property to anyone.
