Environmentally Friendly Villa accommodating 8 people. Casa Cal Domino is situated in the Gavarres, a 38,000 Ha National Park between the Costa Brava and the Roman city of Girona. Cal Domino has panoramic views of the 11th Century Castle in the Medieval Village of Calonge and the Mediterranean coastline.
We have two bedrooms with air conditioning and two bedrooms with modern ceiling fans and our elevated position takes advantage of the cool night sea breezes.
Our electricity supplier uses 100% green energy mostly supplied by our large PV array. Domestic hot water is supplied primarily by two large solar water heaters and topped up when necessary by solar. Our pool filtration system is 100% solar powered. We provide an outstanding welcome pack and our regular clients see Cal Domino as their home-away-from-home since 2007.
The Villa is located at the heart of the Costa Brava region and is perfectly situated for Beach, Hiking, Biking and Golfing self-catering holidays. The Villa has four double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (one en-suite), Jacuzzi bath, sauna, large house bathroom with his and her's sinks, an exterior spa hot tub and an 8x4 heated infinity pool. For the winter months, we have a log burner, natural gas central heating and double glazing throughout. For the summer months, the Villa has been designed to be cool with fresh sea breezes and the upper and lower bedrooms have air conditioning. All the windows have mosquito screens. The modern kitchen has solid oak cupboards with granite worktops, dishwasher, electric oven, 5 ring gas hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine, solid oak dining table (seats 8), kitchen terrace with BBQ and table (seats 8). There are two lounges, one with private terrace and panoramic views over the coast, the other with large picture windows with views to the sea. The tropical hardwood pool deck has 6 Sun loungers and panoramic sea views.
The Villa has roadside CCTV video entry surveillance, a large safe for your laptops and personal electrical items and modern monitored alarm system. The Villa also has WIFI throughout and all free to view satellite TV and radio channels.
Skiing: From December to March skiing from just 2 hours by car.
Golf: Half a dozen championship golf courses within 30 mins of the Villa including Spain's No.1 Golf course, the Catalunya PGA.
Walking: This is hiking country. The Villa is on the doorstep to the Gavarres hills, a protected forest with hiking trails directly from the front door and the best coastal walks on the Costa Brava.
Biking: Hundreds of kilometers of well-marked mountain bike routes from the flat plains of Baix Empordá to the Pyrenees for all levels. The Gavarres national park can be accessed directly from the front door.
Road Biking: Excellent roads throughout the region for road biking during the winter months and this area is home to over a dozen professional teams. The Costa Brava is a very popular destination for serious bikers wanting to do some winter training. We have a secure roadside garage for MB's, road bikes and your golfing equipment.
