Campello Beach is vast, so it’s never hard to find some privacy. Be sure to bring towels, umbrellas and sun protection, as there are few vendors offering these services on the beach. There are, however, plenty of opportunities to rent watersports equipment, and many operators run dive tours and sailing classes in the area. After you’ve enjoyed the sun and water, make your way to the Campello Beach promenade to sample local cuisine.
A short walk along the shore will reveal a series of colorful oceanfront houses. Once the domain of local fishermen, the houses are now home to more affluent families. The brilliant and varied shades provide a beautiful photo opportunity. Scattered between the houses are high-quality restaurants and bars. Seafood is the regional specialty, with ingredients sourced directly from the fishing harbor. Head to the harbor in the afternoon to experience the action of the daily fish auctions.
Campello Beach is located approximately 8 miles (13 kilometers) south of Alicante, and can be reached by tram, car or taxi. Parking in the town is easy to find and free of charge.
