Amazing ocean viewPosted Jan 25, 2016
We stayed one week at Rocamar and loved it! We will definitely return. It is a no frills hotel and won't satisfy everyone, but it was exactly what we were looking for. Incredible ocean views, in fact the rooms almost hang over the edge of the ocean. Fell asleep every night to the sound of CRASHING waves. The bathroom is a strange set up which would be kind of awkward if you were staying with friends or children but it was just my husband and me so it worked for us. The bathroom has glass walls so anyone in the room can see everything you are doing. There are yellow "tarp-like" curtains that you can pull to block the view but the curtains weren't quite big enough to cover the entire wall. Oh well, no big deal. There was a coffee maker but they charged $1 for the coffee. I brought coffee with us. There is a mini fridge and a water pitcher you can refill from water dispensers in the hallway. There is a microwave in the lobby we used to heat up leftovers. There is also instant coffee and tea in the lobby. The location is fabulous for walking into town to eat and shop. We rented a golf cart for the week and had fun cruising all over the island. They have secure parking. There is a small pool with lots of tables and chairs and loungers. There is free wifi. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Clean RoomPosted Jan 15, 2016
Nice hotel. On the water but not a swimable beach. Easy walk to the beach. Easy walk from ferry as well. Great location. Easy to walk to restaurants and stores. Felt safe at night. Hotel has some wear and tear. It could use some refreshing. It's a very basic room. If you're looking for luxury, look elsewhere.

The smell of sewer gas is overwhelming ...Posted Dec 13, 2015
Pros: The Bed and the location ...........................
Cons: Most everything ... The plumbing !!!
Location: Very Good location near everything .............
The smell of sewer gas coming from the shower drain is overwhelming and I think it made me ill ... The staff are cordial at best .... The air-conditioning leaks all over the closet and down onto the floor ... The (Fish Bowl) bathroom is just plain weird ... What were they thinking ... The smallest TV available ... 2 English channels .... Unpleasant stay at Best ... The only thing going for it ... is the bed was good ............ No table on the balcony ... Stay somewhere else ............ The faucet was literally hanging off of the sink ...

Listening to the waves every night.Posted Nov 30, 2015
The room was spotless and the view of the ocean was amazing. We enjoyed listening to the waves right below our balconey every night. The hotel was in a great location, just a short walk to the shops and restaurants.

Amazing view of the sea!!!Posted Nov 29, 2015
Pros: Loved the amazing view of the sea.....3 minute walk from the ferry dock.....short walk to lots of restaurants and North Beach......very clean
Cons: Some shelves are needed in the room where you can store your clothes
Location: Overlooking the sea, restaurants and shopping on Hidalgo St, North beach, explore the island on a golf cart, turtle sanctuary, snorkelling
We enjoyed five fabulous days at the Rocamar.....amazing view of the sea from our room.....watched the sun and moon rise over the waves....swam at the beautiful North Beach.....ate delicious meals at the restaurants on Hidalgo St........explored the island on a golf cart.....planned to go snorkelling but unfortunately the sea was too rough.....visited the turtle sanctuary......craft shops are interesting to explore and the local people are so friendly..... a great place to enjoy a relaxing holiday in a village setting.

La dueña es insufrible.Posted Nov 21, 2015

the hotel has no beach, no bar, no spa.Posted Nov 17, 2015
Pros: it has a lot of potencial but its under construction. I think they should lower the prices a little bit until they finish the work
Cons: change the manager, she is a grumpy person and the last thing someone need in a vacation is someone that its telling you what to do or not to.
Location: its well located, but theres no much to do around and theres no beach close to it.
Rocamar it’s not an ugly place but it’s way too expensive for what they offer, There’s No beach, No bar, No spa, the pool is cold. Basically there’s nothing to do there. They were doing a renovation so every morning at 8am we woke up because of the noise. The service was good, everything was clean and the people who cleaned the rooms were really kind, old the local people attending the hotel were nice EXCEPT THE MANAGER. This european woman was yelling at us the whole time. Complaining about people smoking in the pool area, complaining about us having drinks. She gave us the worst service ever. We asked if we could leave our bags until our ferry depart and she said that just until 3pm. We beg her to help us and keep the bags a couple of hours more and this was impossible for her to understand. change the manager, she is a grumpy person and the last thing someone need in a vacation is someone that its telling you what to do or not to. The location is not bad, is pretty close to the ferry´s station and to the main street.
