When you've visited all of the terrific attractions in Chapultepec, there's more to see in the region. Collect the keys to a rental car, stow your luggage in the trunk and get out there. These are some drives we know you'll love:

• Head to Cuernavaca for an excellent sightseeing experience. Around 35 miles from Chapultepec, it has loads of inspiring attractions like Cuauhnahuac Regional Museum.
• Your next stop? Puebla, which is around 70 miles away. Africam Safari is one local draw card you shouldn't miss.
• Get out into the great outdoors and breathe in some fresh air at La Ropa Beach. It's approximately 200 miles from Chapultepec.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in Mexico, then you may need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be able to rent a car. Also consider that if you do need an IDP, it has no validity on its own. You'll have to show your current license your passport and other forms of ID as well.
