Car Rental Claudelands

After you've visited all of the amazing sights in Claudelands, there's heaps more to explore in the surrounding area. Pick up the keys to a rental car, throw your bags in the trunk and get going. We've come up with some drives we think you'll enjoy:

• You'll find Sky Tower and loads of other interesting sights in Auckland. From Claudelands, it's roughly 70 miles away.
• Roughly 60 miles away, Rotorua is also a hit with travelers. Make sure you check out Skyline Rotorua while you're here. It's one of the reasons people love visiting this city.
• Get into the great outdoors and inhale the fresh air at Napier Beach. You'll find it around 150 miles from Claudelands.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in New Zealand, then you'll likely need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence in order to rent a car. It's also important to note that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll be asked to show your current driver's license your passport and other forms of identification as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card used to book the rental vehicle matches the name on your driver's license and passport. Some added requirements to rent a car internationally are:

• Age restrictions: You must be at least 25 in many countries to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of vehicles you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the fine print before driving away. You typically can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or go off-roading with your rental car.
