Once you've checked out all of the well-known places in Cordón, there's more to explore in the region. Pick up the keys to a rental car, toss your bags in the trunk and take to the open road. We've pulled together some drives we know you'll enjoy:

• Head off to Minas for an excellent sightseeing experience. Around 65 miles from Cordón, it has many amazing sights like Parque Salto del Penitente.
• Why not see everything on offer in Maldonado too? Major sights in this happening city include San Fernando de Maldonado Cathedral. Maldonado is roughly 70 miles from Cordón.
• Santa Teresa National Park is approximately 160 miles from Cordón and is one of the region's most beautiful nature spots. Go for a wander around and enjoy the fresh air here.
