The area around the bus station is grotty and lots of homeless and dirt. Stay in the old town/port area or near the southern beaches This area is unpleasant to stay in and it's worth the cost of the uber to stay somewhere else." The room was not just outdated—it was dirty and poorly maintained to a level that felt unsanitary. The mattress was visibly stained, the furniture was covered in dust and residue, and multiple surfaces looked like they had not been properly cleaned in a long time. The bathroom had rust, grime, and buildup in several areas, and there was a persistent moldy smell throughout the room. Even the basic structure of the room felt neglected, including damaged fixtures and a door that did not feel secure. The overall condition made it impossible to feel comfortable or safe staying there. Because of this, I had to find another hotel immediately, which caused unnecessary stress and additional expense during my trip.
