Gothenburg City Center is full of surprises, but don't restrict yourself to just one place. Grab a set of wheels and hit the open road to see what else awaits in the surrounding area. Here are some great options:

• Head to Jonkoping for a fantastic sightseeing experience. Around 80 miles from Gothenburg City Center, it has tons of cool attractions, including Elmia Exhibition Center.
• Your next pit stop? Helsingborg, which is around 120 miles away. Karnan is one local hot spot you really shouldn't miss.
• Get out into nature and breathe in some fresh air at Falsterbo Beach. You'll find it approximately 160 miles from Gothenburg City Center.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in Sweden, then you might need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country in order to rent a car. Also consider that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll have to show your current license your passport and other forms of ID as well.
