Car Rental Kao-tung

• Keelung is approximately 90 miles from Kao-tung. Popular tourist spots like Keelung Night Market should be high on your list while you're in town.
• Next stop? Consider Kaohsiung, which is around 120 miles away. Lotus Pond is one local hot spot you won't want to miss.
• Kenting National Park is about 160 miles from Kao-tung and is one of the region's most breathtaking nature spots. Go for a walk around and enjoy the fresh air here.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Taiwan, then you'll likely need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country to be allowed to rent a car. You should also be aware that if you do need an IDP, it has no validity on its own. You'll have to show your current driver's license your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card you used to book the rental matches the name on your driver's license and passport. Some additional requirements for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You need to be 25 or older in many countries to rent a car. If you're younger, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to what kinds of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Be sure to read the rules and regulations before sliding behind the wheel. You typically can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or go off-roading with a rental vehicle.
