Once you've checked out all of the interesting sights in Monastiraki, there's heaps more to explore in the region. Pick up the keys to a rental car, throw your bags in the trunk and take to the open road. Here are some drives we think you'll enjoy:

• You'll find Kalamata Beach and loads more amazing attractions in Kalamata. From Monastiraki, it's approximately 110 miles away.
• Approximately 95 miles away, Lamia is also a favorite with wanderers. Be sure to take in Thermopylae Hot Springs while you're here. It's one of the reasons people love visiting this buzzing city.
