$27 Car Rental San Roque

There's so much to do in San Roque, but venture farther afield and you'll find more sightseeing magic. Arrange a set of wheels and you can wander around the surrounding area at your own speed. Add these fantastic destinations to your travel schedule:

• Ambato is roughly 70 miles from San Roque. Renowned tourist attractions like Mall of the Andes should be at the top of your list while you're in town.
• Your next pit stop? It has to be Esmeraldas, which is around 110 miles away. Malecón Las Palmas is one local highlight you really shouldn't miss.
• Get into the outdoors and appreciate the serenity at General Villamil Beach. It's about 210 miles from San Roque.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Ecuador, then it's likely you'll need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be allowed to rent a car. You should also note that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll be asked to show your current license your passport and other forms of identification as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card you used to book the rental vehicle matches the name on your license and passport. Some other things to note for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You must be at least 25 in most countries to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to what kinds of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Be sure to read the rules and regulations before getting behind the wheel. Typically, you can't cross country borders, drive on ferries or on certain types of rugged terrain with your rental car.
