Car Rental Shenzhou

After you've been to all of the terrific places in Shenzhou, there's a lot more to discover in the surrounding region. Grab the keys to a rental car, stow your bags in the trunk and get out on the open road. We've pulled together some road trips we know you'll love:

• Taichung is 95 miles from Shenzhou. Top-rated attractions like Taichung Park should be at the top of your list here.
• Your next pit stop? It has to be Nantou County, which is around 80 miles away. Xitou Monster Village is one local draw card you won't want to miss.
• Make tracks to Taipei 101 to discover some local nature. Pack a picnic to enjoy or just sit and unwind. From Shenzhou, it's 160 miles away.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in Taiwan, then you may need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country to be allowed to rent a car. It's also important to note that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll be asked to show your current license your passport and other forms of documentation as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card used to book the rental vehicle matches the name on your driver's license and passport. Some other requirements to rent a car internationally are:

• Age restrictions: You need to be 25 or over in most countries to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to what kinds of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the rules and regulations before you drive away. Usually, you can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or go off-roading with your rental car.
