Car Rental Skye

When you've been to all of the great sights in Skye, there's a lot more to see in the surrounding region. Collect the keys to a rental car, stow your bags in the trunk and hit the road. Here are some drives we're confident you'll love:

• You'll find Chateau Tanunda and loads of other intriguing sights in Tanunda. From Skye, it's 30 miles away.
• Next stop? Tailem Bend, which is around 50 miles away. Bend Motorsport Park is one local draw card you really shouldn't miss.
• Get into nature and take in the serenity at Flinders Chase National Park. It's about 130 miles from Skye.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in Australia, then you may need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be able to rent a car. It's also important to note that if you do need an IDP, it has no validity on its own. You'll be asked to show your driver's license from your home country your passport and other forms of documentation as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card you used to book the rental vehicle matches the name on your license and passport. Some other things to note to rent a car internationally are:

• Age restrictions: You need to be at least 25 in most countries to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of vehicles available to rent.
• Driving limitations: Be sure to read the rules and regulations before driving away. Typically, you can't cross country borders, drive on ferries or on certain types of rugged terrain with your rental car.
