This is the first hotel review I have ever written because I have never been as disappointed as I was with Hotel Villa Mayor Charme Fortaleza. The information and photos available online do not accurately represent the property we experienced. The rooms were extremely dated, with worn-out furniture of very poor quality. The cleanliness was unacceptable. There were stains on the walls throughout the rooms, and the overall condition made the hotel feel neglected. I am allergic to mold and dust, and within minutes of entering the room my eyes began to itch. We had booked two rooms, and the second room also had visible mold and stains on the walls. It was immediately clear that this was not an isolated issue. We specifically chose this hotel over a larger hotel chain because the photos and descriptions suggested a charming boutique property. Unfortunately, the reality was completely different. We had booked a 14-night stay but were unable to spend even a single night there. The hotel showed us other available rooms, but they were in essentially the same condition. We were told that some rooms are being renovated, but despite the significant difference in quality, we were not offered one of the upgraded rooms. We had no choice but to leave and find another hotel. We are now requesting a full refund because the accommodations we were provided did not match the quality, condition, or expectations created by the hotel’s online listing.
