Room was on the small side but overall not too bad. Parking is expensive

The services was inconsistent and worst of all intermittent hot water or none at all, which is pretty basic!

Clean room Great shower facilities TV was poor (casting didn’t work; channels missing; signal cut in and out) Very unsafe area at night. Lots of drunk homeless and drug use

This is a lovely hotel, very well appointed with generally very helpful staff and lovely rooms and a magnificent building. The only issue we had was with the service at breakfast (no problems with service at dinner at all). We were left standing waiting to be seated for some time as the queue was not really visible to the main dining area and no-one was seemingly assigned to the desk. In addition the tea and coffee orders were very slow to come (this on more than one occasion) so much so we had virtually finished eating before they arrived. The food was very good. We would have rather had to serve ourselves tea and coffee than wait so long for the service. However, this was a minor point to us in our stay overall which we really enjoyed.
