Great staff and fantastic customer service. Older hotel with lots of charm. Glad we stayed and would stay again with such a convenient location and reasonable prices.
Loved all but the small bathroom. Shower curtain kept sticking to my legs and a bit hard to not get water on the floor. Nice restaurant and bar, lovely staff, EXCELLENT beds!!
What a beautiful historic hotel overlooking the lovely city of Charleston and the bay. The hotel lobby is stunning and the staff was extremely friendly. The room was clean and large allowing for a comfortable stay.
Unfortunately had to share 1 Queen bed instead of having 2 queen beds as originally requested when booking the room on Expedia. My 16 year old and I made it work, but it wasn’t the most comfortable sleeping arrangement.
The property is a beautiful older hotel with a lot of character, a beautiful lobby and many amenties such as a restaurant, a great gym and spa. The hotel was centrally located, walking distance to many restaurants and shops, to the marketplace and the water. Staff were responsive to our needs and concerns.
Great location on King Street. We easily walked to downtown Charleston exploring Rainbow Row, the Pineapple Fountain, etc. The Swamp Fox restaurant was wonderful.
Everyone was fantastic in helping us! Sharline and Craig at the front desk, Willat the front door with Amanda, and in the restaurant it was Russell, Sylvie, Christina, Andrew and most especially Juliana!! These people all know what customer service is all about!!

This grand historical hotel is in a great location.
We stayed here for a weekend. The front desk was very nice. The hotel was clean, conveniently, located to pretty much all shops and restaurants. The only negative thing I have is the security staff. The security door staff for overnight is extremely rude. Was very disappointed with them representing this hotel with them being so rude. We had one security guard for the overnight shift. Be extremely rude to us to try and check our key cards to our rooms before we entered the building. Did not know it was a policy and did not understand why someone was asking for our key card and when I asked why was met with a very rude response. The next morning (630am) we were leaving and we had all of our luggage and arms full. I put everything down to get the door open to exit the building only to find out there was a security guard standing directly on the other side watching all three of us, struggle to hold the door and to carry everything. I understand that this may not seem like a big thing, but he was literally standing on the other side of the door looking at us.no he was not busy and no one else was around due to it being so early. I even let him know it was very rude after we got out of the building and let him know he could’ve held the door for us. He simply looked at me with no response. Was very disappointed with his interaction since the rest of the staff have been so kind.
Appreciated the corner room given to us. The front desk staff was very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Thanks for a great stay!
