Strong perfume smell everyday as you walk in to the main lobby. In room bathroom really small, you can sit and wash your hands at the same time. Close to the market.

This worked for a one night stay. Room was small and bathroom was smaller than a broom closet. Could wash my hands while sitting on the toilet. There were also long black hairs in the bathtub (I am blonde) which grossed me out quite a bit. Everything else was clean though.

This was a beautiful property! It had everything we needed. The location was perfect. It is walkable to everything. If you stay here, you have to try the swamp fox restaurant. Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. The shrimp and grits were amazing. Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. The hotel staff are super friendly. The hotel was clean and I would definitely stay there again!

The room (king) was so comfortable. It was not like being in a hotel. More like a really spacious bedroom. It felt homey and peaceful. We can’t wait to stay there again. Full disclosure. You pay separately for parking. $$

The Francis Marion Hotel was elegant, inviting, and clean. The management and staff were helpful, kind, thoughtful and considerate. They anticipated our every need. The hotel is centered in the shopping area with great restaurants and Jazz clubs within walking distance. And there was free bus shuttle transportation to every part of the city of Charleston. I would stay at the Francis Marion Hotel again and recommend it to all of my family and friends visiting Charleston. It is a must see city ! With excellent accommodations!!!

All of the staff at the hotel were not only friendly, they were accommodating as well. My bags were lost for a few days, and the Front Office Manager, Jordan Edenfield, was very thoughtful of my predicament and offered various options to make my stay more comfortable. He is very professional, caring individual who was always interested in how my stay was going. The hotel is very stately, clean, and extremely convenient to most tourist sites. The rooms are a little dated, but the benefits outweigh this small fact. The shopping district is walkable. There is a free city bus, just across the street, and the Charleston Museum just across the park. My stay at the Marion Park was a great choice.
