Chisseaux (Indre-et-Loire) Le Moulin-Fort, moulin fortifié du XVIe siècle. Il s'agit d'un moulin à eau auquel on a ajouté des éléments de défense : machicoulis, archères, tours... Il est situé sur île du Cher, à proximité de l'écluse à aiguilles de Chisseaux. Ce moulin appartenait à Diane de Poitiers. La transformation en manoir est récente. Sur la façade nord, on apperçoit, un très beau monogramme constitué de deux D enlacés avec deux plumes. C'est le monogramme de Diane de Poitiers. Chisseaux (Indre-et-Loire) Le Port Olivier et l'écluse. Au XIXe siècle, le Cher est canalisé depuis Noyers-sur-Cher jusqu'à Saint-Avertin. La commune, est pourvue en 1830-1840 d’un barrage à aiguilles sur le Cher, d'une écluse rive droite. L'écluse mesure 35 m de long sur 5,15 m de large. Le barrage est composés d'aiguilles en bois de 2,50 m de haut sur 7 cm de large et d'un déversoir sur la gauche. Le 7 juin 2010 le déversoir de Chisseaux tue 2 navigateurs qui tentaient de franchir le barrage. Le dangereux phénomène de rappel* est trop souvent méconnu. Le rappel est une : "Perturbation dangereuse dans l’écoulement de l’eau pouvant survenir en bas d’une chute d’eau. Cette perturbation entraîne une émulsion de l’eau, un mouvement de surface qui ramène l’eau vers la chute, un affouillement qui creuse une excavation au pied de la chute. Les barrages artificiels ou des chutes naturelles peuvent avoir un rappel à leur pied ce qui interdit totalement leur franchissement." Chenonceaux

Chissay-en-Touraine (Loir-et-Cher) Eglise Saint-Saturnin (XVe, XVIe et XVIIe siècles). L'église se trouve au centre de l'ancien village. On en trouve trace dans des écrits datant de 1150. Elle a subit de nombreuses transformations. L'église, qui appartenait depuis au moins 1156 à l'abbaye de Villeloin, a été reconstruite aux XVe et XVIe siècles par Pierre Bérard, trésorier de France sous Charles VII (1446-1465) et ses descendants seigneurs de Chissay. La nef et la chapelle nord sont du XVe.Le choeur et la chapelle sud datent du XVIe. Le porche est du XVIIe. La tourelle d'escalier est appuyée contre le mur nord. La travée centrale date du deuxième quart du XVIe. L'église a pour particularité de ne pas avoir de clocher. Les cloches ont donc été placées dans le comble du choeur, côté nef. Les cloches se nomment Marie-Louise installée en 1816 et Marie-Madeleine installée en 1897.

Hot air ballon ride in The Loire Valley France for my father's 60th birthday present. Hands down my favorite experience of this trip. We watched other balloons taking off from above while the sun began to set. We also got to see the chateaux we toured from a different perspective, gliding over Château de Chenonceau. Once we landed safely, we had a champagne toast. I highly recommend going on a hot air balloon ride in this area of France. It was absolutely breathtaking.
