Chollerford Vacations from $1,506

Thanks for making me & my wee lads weekend as best as it could after a bad result in the football but cant fault the hotel anyway at all

I booked this trip for my brother & his partner for my brother's birthday. We've stayed at County a few times & we've always loved it but my brother said this trip wasn't as good. The staff wouldn't answer the phone for room service when my brother wanted to order food from the 24hr menu. He went downstairs and 2 staff members were sat in lounge chairs talking. He asked about the phone call & they said the phones were playing up - the phone had worked fine before. So he asked if he could order food from the 24hr menu, and the staff said they'd need to check with the kitchen that they could make the food & they would call him back. He went back to his room, still hadn't had a phone call after 20 mins. When he went back downstairs the staff were sat in the lounge chairs again. My brother asked them for an update, again they said there was a problem with the phones, so he asked if he could have the food & they said they didn't have what was needed for the food order. So he then had to leave the hotel to get food for himself & his partner. The 2nd issue was housekeeping. My brother works nights so he often sleeps in. Despite putting a do not disturb sign up, the housekeeper knocked once & then immediately walked into the room without waiting for a response. He was understandably very uncomfortable when this happened. Really disappointed to hear about this & wanted to share for awareness. My brother said he would still stay again but he said he was very let down this time.

We had a really lovely stay at Jesmond Dene Hotel. The staff were lovely, breakfast was delicious and the hotel provided a quiet, peaceful escape.
