The setting is beautiful just a shourt walk to the river and trails. The cafes are close by. The service from the staff is excellent. Beautiful historic building, with an ideal location in the very centre of town. My room was good value, bed very comfortable and shared bathroom was well appointed and super clean. Shower was great! The verandah was a great place to relax and watch the world go by. Continental breakfast was lovely, great coffee and the cafe food looked awesome. The bike shelter was handy if arriving by bike when cycling the Lake Dunstan Trail. Ian and Meredith are hospitable and friendly hosts, definitely recommend a stay at Dunstan House! It was a unique, hotel experience that feels like living in a different time / era but with hot showers, electricity and a place to park & charge my e-bike. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again. The accommodation is great value and even includes an excellent continental breakfast. The bath in our ensuite was a blessing after a day on the bike! Quiet, comfy and clean (even with a room that has the shared bathroom option). Small continental breakfast was included. The staff were very kind, and the charm incredible. Up to modern standards, no one ever Modernized the Look of this 1898 hotel. It’s like stepping back in time. Loved the comfy seat on the veranda watching the world go by. The proprietors were very friendly and set up a great continental breakfast in the downstairs cafe.
