Cozy log cabin with one bedroom (queen bed) plus upstairs loft (two twin beds), full kitchen, one bathroom (stand in shower only) and wrap around deck with sitting area. Outside there is a fenced in area. Cabin is 750 square feet. Wifi is available. The cabin sits on a two acre property with great mountain views and sunsets. "Porcelina's Chapel" is available on the property for those who would like to say a prayer. Father Timothy from Our Lady of the Woods kindly came and blessed the chapel. Feel free to take a prayer card if available. The cabin is about 10 minutes from Florissant restaurants and grocery store. Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is about a 10 minute drive. Cripple Creek, Co is about a 30 minute beautiful scenic drive. Elevation 8,536 feet...keep this in mind for those with health issues. There are frequent fire bans, therefore we do NOT allow fires of any kind on our property. It snowed the day it our arrival which made our stay that much more magical. We loved the remoteness and quietness of this charming cabin. Morning coffee on the porch while watching the sunrise on Pike’s Peak was relaxing while also watching the deer, fox and jackrabbits forage and play. The kitchen is stocked and ready for you to enjoy meals. With beautiful mountians and wildlife that came up to the cabin it was an amazing time. They provided bear spray in case you forgot some to go on a hike; this is part of the mountains where bears are prevalent so this was reassuring. The owner was very clear about who to contact if we had any issues, when the trash came by, and general property rules. All around they were very communicative with us when we had questions and were very police and respectful. When we drove up, we were in awe of the scenery. You can look right off the back deck onto a spectacular scenery of mountains! It was breathtaking. The cabin is super cute. There is no air conditioning but it was not needed. The cool mountain air was very comfortable. The bed was comfy and clean. And, the shower had good water pressure making for a satisfying shower. The kitchen was well stocked. It had everything we needed. We cooked a lot of meals here and used the outdoor BBQ twice, while relaxing in the chairs provided and taking in a gorgeous view. The back deck was wonderful. We enjoyed humming birds, mountain jays, golden mantled squirrels as we sat and rested after a long hike. There are numerous places to sit and relax on the back deck. TV in nearly every room with excellent reception. The road to the cabin is a bit rough but well worth it. We will definitely stay here again. My only complaints would be both doors to the deck are quite difficult to open and close and i don't feel the property manager (not the property owner) does a very good job of inspecting the property before the next visitors arrive. The bedding smelled, crumbs on the counter and floor in kitchen area, as well as the vacuum being full of pet hair and a sponge to do dishes was way past being thrown out. Never heard of a rental that asks you to wash the linens before leaving. Quiet, up on a mountain, rests this cabin. Wonderful layout, clean, comfortable, great amenities ( everything you could need). 20 minutes from multiple restaurants and several activities. Abundant wildlife especially birds. A great place to sit on the porch and relax. We had a wonderful time. Thank you for an excellent experience. The views from the deck are amazing! 10 minutes from a local grocery store and about 30-45 to local attractions. Highly recommend this cabin. The only thing is, is the primary bedroom's mattress is extremely firm.
