"Since there was very little information on the listing, I thought I would clarify that this is a very rustic accommodation, more like camping than anything else. The cabin was very open to the elements, always filled with bugs (wasps, beetles, fishing spiders, etc.), and you should expect to be woken up at 4 by the rooster and other farm animals. The bed itself was cozy and the shed was charming in many ways. If this all is what you are expecting, you might have a great time. For people like us...

"We enjoyed our stay at the Lobster Cottage. The rental was very close to the hiking trails in Acadia Park and close to restaurants and shopping. We spent all of the days hiking so it was nice to have a clean and quiet place to rest and relax at the end of the day. The view of the harbor was beautiful too."

"We loved our stay in this beautiful, clean, and quiet home right on the ocean. Our family of four spent an incredible 12 nights on the property cooking homemade meals, sitting out on the deck in the mornings, and enjoying beach bonfires at the fire pit right on the beach out front. The location was also perfect for adventuring - we explored Acadia National Park, local beaches, and delicious food options nearby. The neighbors were also very kind and attentive, available for anything we needed during our stay. As a side note, we loved the minimalist decor with Polish pottery and weaving on the walls. These details made the home feel so cozy and perfect for our relaxed family vacation. Thank you to the hosts for the wonderful summer stay!"

"Fantastic location, right on the beach, very quiet. The house configuration was good. One bedroom and bath on first floor and two bedrooms and a shared bathroom on the second floor. Loved watching the lobster boats coming and going out to sea."

"This spot is a hidden gem. I can’t wait to come back. It immediately felt like home. It was apparent that this is a family camp, and I can’t even believe how well provisioned it is. If folks are coming from out of state - they won’t need to bring much other than their food and clothing. I’ve worked and stayed in camps in northern Maine and I never experienced the quiet and peace like I did here. The small walk out back is magical. Deer and snowshoe hares are a welcome constant. A small walk from camp there are excellent trailheads - I highly suggest hiking at least one while you visit. The views are world class, there’s nothing like downeast Maine. Chipman’s wharf is close by, you can get fresh lobsters and have them steamed there to take home, or eat there at their cafe. If you’d like to experience the REAL Maine coast - this is the place to go. So grateful that we found this place. We will be back as soon as possible."

"Ten stars. I will be back. It’s so nice no need to go elsewhere!!! Tons of privacy. The street is perfect. You honestly don’t have to go anywhere to see the best of Maine. The kitchen is to die for if you like to cook. Ideal house for a dog. The yard is in segments. Fence is secure. The agency was wonderful and very helpful. It’s an old beautiful home. "We absolutely loved this home! The house was beautifully decorated, it was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was very well stocked. We took full advantage of the incredible views from the deck to enjoy our morning coffee, and spotted a bald eagle almost daily. The kids played on the beach and climbed on the rocks, which was also a fantastic spot to put in our kayaks to explore the bay. We liked being close to Schoodic Peninsula but also drove to Mt Desert Island several times to explore. Would love to come back again!"
