Fulfill your Bucket List dream of living amongst wild horses roaming free and grazing in the yard of this brand new open floor plan ocean retreat in a private setting of all sand roads and miles and miles of ocean beach. This house will inspire your inner artist, writer, photographer and nature enthusiast.... you will never want to leave

Catch sunrise views from the expansive oceanside deck with dining table for 6, or step to the sound side deck for amazing sunsets. Are you a star gazer? The OBX is known for limited light pollution allowing The Milky Way to shine bold and bright. We have the ocean, sound, sand, blue skies, and lots of wildlife including dolphins, seabirds and wild horses to watch which can easily fill your days.

ManeStay is just minutes to Corova Beach Park and Boat Ramp with clean bathrooms, picnic tables, park grills, hot showers and a playground (with horses roaming free amongst it all) nestled in a maritime forest setting.

Spending the day at the beach is easy - you will be able to take your gear and walk three blocks or park directly on the beach. To park on the beach, you will need a county-issued permit displayed on the dash of the vehicle (we include this complimentary with your stay!). Please remember to leave the permit at Mane Stay when you check out.
 
Home Includes: 2 BR/1.5 BA + outdoor shower, Wi-Fi, beach parking permit, kitchen stocked with your basic cooking needs (kitchen & hand towels, starter Keurig coffee, basic cleaning supplies, starter roll of paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, dish detergent, hand soap, shampoo/body wash, bath towels (NOT beach towels), sheets, pillows, blankets, cards and games.

Guest Access: 4WD VEHICLE IS MANDATORY! After arriving in Corova, you will drive down the beach for 8 miles. There are no roads or businesses in this stretch. There are no street signs, but there are mile markers to help you find your way. Arriving at night is possible, but we would recommend avoiding this. Check the tides as it’s much easier to drive at low tide. It is required that you deflate your tires to 18-20 PSI. You can air up/down at Historic Corolla Park near the Currituck Lighthouse complimentary just before the pavement ends.
 
Other things to note: Check-in is 4pm, check-out is 10am.

We enjoyed this house so much! Diane was so sweet and accommodating. The house is tucked away and a short walk to the beach. So clean and bright. We loved seeing the horses and sitting in the balcony at night watching the stars. Very quiet and beautiful! Can’t wait to stay again sometime!

Perfect getaway. Quiet and relaxing. And horses!
We loved everything about our experience. The house was very welcoming, clean, cozy, updated, and well stocked with kitchen essentials. The walk to the beach is easy and we saw several horses every time! The owner was amazing and very quick to respond to inquiries and questions and really went the extra mile to ensure we had a great stay and the opportunity to make lasting memories with our kids. The outdoor property was fun for our two boys with some space for them to safely explore and play. I can’t say enough good things about it. Highly recommend ❤️

25th Anniversary Celebration
My wife and I spent our 25th Anniversary here. What a great place!! Very clean, quiet and peaceful. We saw horses everyday, just not at the house. Although they left several calling cards to let us know they were there! Diane is a great host. She was very gracious and provided crucial information regarding access to the house as it’s in the 4x4 only area. Perfect time of the year to visit with diminished crowds with cooler temps low humidity. We will definitely be back next year.

Our family absolutely loved this property and our week at the beach. Diane was just incredible! She was so helpful with any questions that we had. The house was perfect! It had everything you would think you would need. We got to see multiple horses at the house, on our drive up and down the beach and even while we were on the beach. House was very nice. We enjoyed our stay. House was very clean, and nicely furnished. Kitchen was stocked with basics. We cooked all but one of our meals there. Horses were right in the yard and around the area. Close to beach, but had a woodsy feeling also. Nights we were serinaded by whippor wills and tree frogs. Very relaxing overall. Host is very nice. Quiet area.

Better than we could've ever imagined
This was our first time to OBX. We absolutely loved Corolla! ManeStay was perfect for our family and Diane was very responsive and helpful in every way. The check in and check out process was very simple and seamless. The house, itself, was nicely furnished with everything we needed. We enjoyed the large deck on which we could watch the horses and listen to the ocean while eating our evening meal. We had horses visit the yard 3 of the 7 evenings we were there. We saw horses at the beach and while walking around the neighborhood every day! (Not sure if that is normal of if we just got lucky!!). The house is just a short distance from the beach. We walked to/on the beach with the dogs most mornings, then returned to the house to pack up our things and head down for the day. Driving to the beach was so easy. Having corn hole boards and bags was an added bonus that we enjoyed! If we vacation in Corolla again, we will not hesitate to reach out to see if ManeStay is available. We cannot say enough about what a wonderfully peaceful, relaxing vacation this was!

A magical getaway in the OBX
Four of us felt right at home ManeStay! It was the perfect retreat just far enough “off the beaten path” from the hustle and bustle in Corolla to feel like we really got away. The house feels very private/remote, which we appreciated. We loved the 4x4 beach driving experience and it is definitely our favorite way to haul everything to the beach (so easy!). There were plenty of amenities at the house that made this even easier, such as providing a beach parking pass, a convenient hose/shower for cleaning up sand, beach chairs and toys, etc. We made the most of the other amenities too, such as the charcoal grill and outdoor patio furniture. We adored our slow mornings out there and sunsets waiting for the horses! We did see 5 horses one evening around sunset and it was magical. The host was one of the kindest, most genuinely passionate about hosting guests/sharing her home that I’ve worked with in years on this type of platform. She was responsive, attentive, proactive, and went out of her way to ensure our group had a wonderful experience. We are so grateful to her! One other thing, the beds here are so comfortable! We rest easy each night in comfort, and woke up feeling refreshed. ManeStay was a true treat and we look forward to returning!

My time at ManeStay was flawless. Beautifully decorated, the house provided all needed for a tranquil week of viewing the mustangs, rest, walks on the beach. We had an amazing time in Corolla. We saw wild horses on the beach on our way, a wild stallion walked down the road near the house, and another wild stallion walked through the backyard one morning. The house was clean and comfortable, exactly as advertised.

Peaceful retreat, curated cottage
My husband and I had always wanted to check out the off-road properties in the northern outer banks. This cottage was the perfect retreat- with lovely furnishings, wifi and updated kitchen. We were anxious about tide tables and figured it out by the time we departed. I think is a great area if prepared to pack out for your stay and don't need to go into town. Spacious decks suited for relaxation; views of woods.

Mane Stay was beautiful and secluded.
We enjoyed 2 wonderful weeks at Mane Stay. There were a few minor housekeeping issues the owners weren't aware of but they resolved quickly. Hurricane Ian was definitely a factor too. They were an absolute joy to work with from booking to leaving. Very responsive and engaging. Very pleasant to work with. The property is secluded but you can hear the ocean when you sit out on the front porch and watch the wild horses that visit up close and often. Again. Lovely. The location alone is an adventure! The 4x4 beach access seems daunting but don't let it stop you from enjoying this off the grid part of OBX. It was a great experience to drive on the beach and to know it is the only way to get to your house. My only criticism is of the bed. We stayed 2 weeks and it was the only uncomfortable part of our stay. The place is new and stocked with everything you need. The cookware and dishes were quality, not left over junk. The house was bright, modern and the decor was well thought out. We also appreciated the ability to stay in such a beautiful place with our dogs. We travel with our dogs several times a year so we appreciate pet friendly quality properties. It is clear the owners care about your experience and the property. It was a overall great experience.

Anniversary stay
Me and my wife had a great stay at this property!
