The place is beautiful, the food is good, the staff was super helpful and nice. The location is fantastic to ride great roads. The cabins could use some updating but really that was nothing. Highly recommend.

The setting is unbeatable and the scenery is beautiful. Dining by the river is a superb experience. The stay was lovely and the cabin we stayed in was very nice. Great getaway location, very romantic, and lots to do around there.

Great place although a little pricey. The rooms in the lodge were much nicer than the cabins, we switched mid-stay. Decent food at the restaurant with good service. The service was especially good at the front desk.

THE STAFF BENT OVER BACKWARDS TO HELP WITH ANYTHING. I DROVE AND WANTED TO GO ON ROADS I HAVEN'E BEEN ON THE DAVID SET IT ALL UP FOR ME. i WANTED MY FOOD COOKED A CERTAIN WAY THE CHEIF CAME OUT TO MAKE SURE I WAS HAPPY. JUST A GREAT OVER ALL EXPERIENCE AND STAFF. WOULD GO BACK IN A HEART BEAT.

The staff are very friendly & helpful. The wait staff were excellent as well as all of the meals we ordered. The riverside Atmosphere can’t be beat. Our only real complaint was the walk between the lodge & our cabin, A2. The stone steps are uneven and dangerous. I slipped once and fell but caught myself in time to break the fall. We were passengers as we rode with our friends and had to walk to and from the cabin. We know it is a historic lodge and they want to maintain that but safety is also important.

This was our second time staying here. The first time was off season Feb. 2025 his time the begining of Oct. 2026. Disappointing service and constant excuses We were incredibly disappointed with our stay at Tapoco Lodge, primarily due to the lack of knowledgeable staff. Whenever we had questions or needed assistance, the employees we encountered seemed entirely untrained and unable to provide basic information about the property or services. To make matters worse, whenever we brought up an issue, the management and staff repeatedly blamed a "lack of help" rather than taking accountability or trying to resolve the problem. While understaffing can be a challenge, using it as a constant excuse to guests who are paying for a premium experience is completely unacceptable. A beautiful location cannot make up for poor service and a total lack of hospitality. You over pay for the views!

We recently stayed in one of the cabins for the weekend. Even though it was a holiday weekend, the price was pretty steep, about $450 p/night. But, it's not really a cabin, more like 1/3 of a cabin. One room, two beds and a bathroom; that's it. Good luck finding receptacles to plug into. We ate several meals at the on-site Tavern and the food was delicious but the wait was atrocious. We ordered a brick oven pizza and it came out in 1 hour, 20 minutes. We waited for 30 minutes to get a refill of tea. The breakfast food was very quick and quite good, but you have to pay for it because there is no complimentary or Continental breakfast. All in all, it was a quaint resort that you are paying for location more so than luxury.

This was a motorcycle trip from TX for me and a friend. From the Covered parking, on site food and drinks, and easy, quick access to the Tail of the Dragon and so much more. This is was a perfect place to stay.
