Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below: Indoor Areas Downstairs is the Master bedroom, bathroom (with shower) and separate toilet, plus open plan kitchen/dining/living room (with coonara-style wood heater, large smart TV and a Chromecast) that leads out to the large deck. Upstairs are two bedrooms (Bedroom 3 has a TV) and Bedroom 2 (with a small BIR) plus a second bathroom (with shower and toilet). Outdoor Areas The large covered deck with BBQ features the home's star attraction - a 6-seater electric heated spa with uninterrupted views of the rural landscape, Phillip Island, French Island and Westernport Bay. Goku's Shack is listed as pet friendly but please note that the front fence would probably allow small dogs to escape. The long driveway and carport provides parking space for up to 4 vehicles (cars and/or a boat). Kitchen The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, kettle, etc. plus a double sink, a large fridge, dishwasher, electric oven and cook top. Heating/Cooling Systems There are three wall mounted reverse cycle air-conditioners in the home; one in each of the Living room, Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 3, plus 3 stand-alone fans for use where required. There is also a coonara style wood heater in the Living Room. Wood is not provided but can be purchased at any local service station. Bedding Configuration This home has 5 beds, accommodating up to 8 guests: Bedroom 1 (Downstairs): One King bed Bedroom 2 (Upstairs): One Queen bed Bedroom 3 (Upstairs): One Tri Bunk and one Single bed Please note: The Tri-bunk has a double bed base with a single bed above it. Linen It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged. Peak Periods Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm (unless by prior arrangement). Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up. Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies. Beautiful spot overlooking the bay with a paddock next door with kangaroo's at sunrise and sunset. The house was fully equipped including things that are often missing in other properties (hand towels, bath mats, paper towel, tissues). The king size bed was very comfortable and I liked having plenty of spots to hang towels in the bathroom (a towel rail and a couple of extra hooks - something else that is often lacking!). It is in a peaceful location at the end of a court with amazing sunsets to be enjoyed from the front deck. The front yard is great for dogs to play and it is a short walk to the beach and general store. The neighbours are always quiet. Hot water in taps is scalding hot and some bird or possum got into the range hood on the last night but think it left after I switched it on. Comfy bed and secure for dogs. Firstly the check in was terrible, after a horrible experience with one of the staff from Phillip Island Homes whilst we were unable to actually unlock the property because the keys in the lockbox were jamming the actual lock and therefore we couldn't get it out. It took an hour and 45 mins to send someone down to do a 2 second job, all this time my family and I were waiting in the cold and getting no sort of reassurance from the staff member at the agency, essentially him telling us that this hasn't happened before and there's been no issues with the lock implying it's user error. However when we came to lock the property back up and place the keys back in the lockbox, we could see why the keys got jammed in the first place because it's so easy for it to get caught in the lock, we obviously made sure we did it correctly to not inconvenience the next person however the agency really need to do a better job at checking the whole property before someone comes to check into the property. Joel however who was another staff member I dealt with was much more understanding and as I complained to him the next day he did extend our check out till 2pm and was much kinder to deal on the phone with. On our second night, there was a bass coast wide power outage from 4.30pm till 12.30am, which meant we really couldn't use the facilities for majority of Saturday... In terms of cleanliness, the outdoor area needs more love as there were spiderwebs everywhere that you can tell had been there for a long time, the rooms were average. Actually only the downstairs room was decent but the upstairs room were not great aesthetically and cleanliness wise, the windows need to be cleaned more as there were a lot of dead bugs lying around on the windowsill. The neighbour is okay, when I went to go seek his help to get the lockbox opened because maintenance was taking way too long he told me that he doesn't want any noise or "loud conversations" after 10pm which I said okay to, until my last day when I was reading the houses handbook it had said that on Friday and Saturday you can actually go until 11pm! So the neighbour just took advantage of our situation at the time. Overall, the property could do with more love and care, it's not worth the price that it's advertised for though. The spa was the only highlight when we were able to use it. The location was great and very good for our dogs too. Very close proximity to the kid friendly beach and General Store, a short drive or 25 min beach walk to Fig & the Bay in Corinella. Hands down, Goku Shack boasts the best view in town and the family including our little Jack Russell enjoyed our time immensely. The spa and BBQ on the deck!! Walks on the beach, fishing & snorkelling. Also, by car not too far away from the surf beaches in Phillip Island, Sky Trail at AMaze’N Things or our favourite restaurants in Cowes.
