Villages of Crystal Beach is an exclusive, gated community only a few blocks from the beautiful blue waters and white sandy beaches of Destin. You can make the walk on foot or hop on the free seasonal trolley service (Memorial Day through Labor Day): they will even pick you up at the house and drop you off right at the beach! The pool area at Villages of Crystal Beach is a vacation must! The lagoon style zero entry pool is 30,000 square feet of gorgeous, sparkling clear water. There is a spa, tropical landscaping, and plenty of seating areas. It also has surround sound, a flat screen TV, and a grilling area to help you relax and unwind.

Please note that there are parking restrictions within the Villages of Crystal Beach. There are two parking spaces available in the driveway of the home with an overflow lot for one additional vehicle. Trailers, RV's, boats, golf carts, and motorcycles are not allowed within the community gates; alternate parking arrangements will need to be made for these items. 

Area Attractions: 

There are wonderful shops and restaurants close by and great attractions such as golf courses, Big Kahuna's Water and Adventure Park, boating, fishing, and watersports!

Close by is Destin Commons, a beautifully landscaped, pedestrian-friendly area and a great family venue where children will love to play in the interactive water fountains. Also, for the younger guests, a nautically/pirate themed outdoor playground features a 1,750 square foot soft play area with various creatures from the sea, slides, and a treasure chest!  Destin Commons also has a mini train for the kids. Destin Commons features over 75 shops and restaurants, including Godiva Chocolates, AMC Movie Theaters and Bass Pro Shop.

If you are near Miramar Beach, the snorkelers in your group will love the new artificial reef called Dolphin Reef, deployed in 2017.  Located just 685 feet straight out from the Miramar Regional Public Beach access (by Pompano Joe's), it is becoming a haven for sea life. Each of the 4 snorkeling reefs comprises 40 acres of permitted sea bottom. The Dolphin Reef is at a depth of 12-20 feet. We strongly recommend that snorkelers use a kayak, paddleboard, or other flotation device when visiting the snorkel reefs. Sea conditions can and do change quickly and often. Enjoy!

The ceiling fan/light in living room and half bath did not work, guy showed up with lightbulbs after we were originally told to trouble shoot and check breakers and plugs which did not work! Trundle bed and pullout couch mattress covers were filthy, bugs were crawling all upstairs, couldn’t leave anything out, hot on the children toothbrushes. The dishwasher started leaking water when we attempted to start on our departure which is probably why it was still full of dishes from previous renter. There was no trash bag for the kitchen trash can do we had to buy some to take the trash out! Management was sent several emails regarding the issues and none were done!! At one point they indicated that someone from the management team would call but we have never received a call yet! Terrible customer service for so much money that was paid to rent this property!

The last time we stayed here for our family vacation it was great. This time however we had a few issues. We got there before check in time so we called to ask if we could check in an hour early. They said no, the housekeepers were still prepping/inspecting everything. So we waited around til it was time. (I texted them too.) Come to find to find out, they emailed saying it was ready by 3.we waited longer for nothing. Poor communication on them We had a major ant and bug problem. We bought a dozen donuts at the donut hole for breakfast the next morning.. Ants were covered inside. We contacted the property resort people to get reimbursed. They couldnt without a proper receipt. We showed them the bank statement of the amount taken out and they wouldnt accept it. So it was a waste of $19! They came to spray but the ants kept coming back and making trails all over countertops.- Do not leave any food out or the ants will get into everything!! 2nd thing is the upstairs bathroom next to balcony... The tub never drained properly so each time we showered, there was about 5 inches full of water. Another thing that grossed us out is the toliet bowl scubber was NOT cleaned. There was poop all over it and come to find out our toddler got ahold of the brush. Hes 2 and too young to know what that is yet but it was absolutely disgusting seeing he got poop all over his hands!! One of the easiest way for him to get sick. Which he did once we got back home.! So disappointing this time.

Appreciated the fact that it is the first house upon entry into the community, so it was closest to the beach. We could walk (even with young children) to the pool and the few blocks to the beach. The house itself was very well-kept with nice, up-to-date furnishings without feeling too fancy for kids. Plenty of space and sleeping options for two families traveling together.

Overall the stay is good. Unfortunately the weather is cold and heat does not come in 1st floor, when we turn on the heater in the living room 1st floor, the power trip offed. Also both the trash carts are full of trash when we checked in.

Wonderful stay
The property was exactly as described. Clean, easily accessible, and decorated nicely. There is a short walk to the pool, but not bad at all. The beach was a little too far for us to walk so we drove over and paid $5/per day for parking. The public beach area is pretty tiny and crowded, so we rented beach chairs and umbrellas right next to it. The house is in a good location for quick access to restaurants and grocery stores.

Decent but not amazing
House was clean, spacious, and comfortable, but not very well appointed. Two of the beds did not have sheets on them when we arrived. Kitchen had the bare minimum in terms of cookware, dishes and basic necessities….not even a full set of dishes or cups for the 9 of us staying there. No sponge or anything to scrub dishes with, and no hot pad to take something out of the oven. We had to hodge-podge things together. No storage containers. Only two wine glasses plus a few plastic ones. No entryway mat to wipe your feet…. Had to go to Walmart and buy extra cookware, floor mats, wine glasses, a sponge for the kitchen sink, plus the other things we already knew it didn’t have like toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, etc. RealJoy was nice and brought us a couple baking pans and sheets for the two unmade beds, but we felt bad having to call them for everything!! The walk to the beach is .38 miles. The closest access point is the Barracuda entrance. Chair and umbrella rentals were $180 a day for four chairs…. and it had no place to rinse off your feet making for a very uncomfortable walk home. Never been to a beach- public or private- without a water spout. Kids feet had horrible blisters from walking home with the sand rubbing in their shoes. The pool was nice but extremely crowded and seemed much smaller in person.

We couldn’t have asked for a better location! A short walk to the beach, less than 10 minutes. Beautiful and well kept house, with plenty of space for 2 couples, a 12yr old, and one other person. Also a great location in regards to proximity to several amazing restaurants. Will definitely stay here again!

The home itself was very nice but the floors were very dirty. If you were barefoot, your feet were black in no time. We had to purchase a propane tank for the grill (which we will be reimbursed for) but this was inconvenient Pool was nice but strict with all the rules. The distance to the beach was a good 4 blocks. No beach set up comes with the house and if you bring your own umbrellas or tents, you have a small area to use them on the beach. Honestly, we just prefer to be right on the beach. Location to 98 is perfect. We have been visiting Destin for 29 years and this past week was not as crowded as we expected, which is a good thing. Traveling on 98 was congestion free ands truly some of the best beaches anywhere.

This house is amazing!!!! It is VERY clean. The community is gorgeous;) The kids enjoyed the nicely maintained community pool. The beach is a very short walk. Literally everything you need is around you:) We rented bikes and rode all around the area. The one and only downfall was the propane tank was empty and we had already purchased burgers to grill. But we made it work:) We would love to stay at this beautiful home again!! Thank you!:)

Nice home base
The Polka Dot Bikini was a very nice, clean home with lots of room for two couples to have separate areas. We loved that it was a quick walk to the beach and there was convenient shopping nearby. It was close to other towns that we explored, and a short drive to the boardwalk where there are restaurants, bars, more shops. If you plan to cook at the house much, be prepared to bring/purchase all your spices, condiments, leftover storage, etc. The property management company provided 2 dishwasher tabs, 2 garbage bags, and 4 rolls of TP for our 10 day stay, so if you’re staying longer know you’ll have to bring or buy that also. Overall the property was comfortable but not as accommodating as other VRBO rentals we have stayed with.

Great house! Amazing location!
The house was just perfect. Clean and big with a really nice layout. The pool in the community was well maintained and a pleasure to use. The beach is an easy 5-10 minute walk from the house, but there is some decently priced parking right at the walkway to the beach if you have a lot of stuff and/or don't want to walk. There are so many restaurants and stores very close. Convenience factor was huge! Vacations should be easy and this place made everything we wanted to do easy. Would definitely rent again.
