We got free travel tickets for bus and tram rides in and around Basel. It is also valid for the return trip to the airport. So worth investigating about the free transportation. There are 2 train stations and the international one, we came in from Strasbourg, is a 36mins walk! Our mistake but worth noting. The bus back ( which is free) stops outside the hotel.
