Incredible place to spend a few nights while we enjoyed the peace and serenity as well as two safaris. The food was the best we had during our stay in Sri Lanka and the staff was incredible as well.

Beautiful setting and location. This place is fantastic with a relaxing atmosphere, great service but not overdone, with a sense that you are more of a guest at a home stay. The food is really great and they will help you and your partner celebrate a birthday or other event, but not a place to go and party down if that’s what you want.

This family owned hotel is stunningly beautiful. So many decorative details. The pool and hot tub so inviting. Backyard faces river with monkeys close by.

Very professional staff, incredible location near the entrance to Yala National Park. The staffs English could be improved upon but the staff were very attentive, warm and helpful. The room we had was incredible. Very large with all the amenties you could expect. The small private pool was nice but cold and not really used. Amazing property. Beautiful location. Well maintained and situated perfectly to take advantage of the natural surroundings. Rooms clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully stocked including umbrellas mounted outside the door.

A peaceful nature retreat with incredible fresh food. Our stay at Kalu’s Hideaway was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We loved the wholesome farm-to-table dining—tasting fresh red dragon fruit straight from the garden, sweet pineapples, mangos, and delicious Sri Lankan vegetables. The property itself is surrounded by nature. The butterfly garden was an unexpected treat, and waking up to the tranquil morning sounds of birds overlooking the Udawalawe reserve canopy was magical. A delightful bit of "glamping" right next to the treasure of Yala Park. The "rooms" are comfortable and even air conditioned. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast served on a raised tower overlooking the park.

General manager to junior staff has been truly amazing during our entire stay. Very clean, comfortable place for nature loving people like us. The lunch and breakfast we enjoyed a lot! We sure will come back!

The location of the hotel couldn’t have been better! The room looked onto the pool and was beautiful. The rain couldn’t be helped but it was quite loud against the roof of the room. The Sri Lankan breakfast after my safari was lovely and I also had dinner the night before, however I would say there wasn’t very clear communication of timings or where to go once I checked in but for dinner the guy from the hotel on WhatsApp answered all of my questions.

Outstanding small villa recently renovated and styled in a very tasteful and relaxing design. We loved it. Communication via WhatsApp with the owner’s daughter was prompt, efficient and with excellent English. She organised our safari, which went smoothly (and the driver was excellent). Absolutely stunning property and surroundings! House and rooms are nice and clean but public spaces felt small for the 7 rooms (14 people). It is nice if you are happy to socialize and share space. Staff was amazing and accommodating - food was good, not amazing - a little hit or miss. We didn’t have the full board / all inclusive like others and I felt like the prices were high for Sri Lanka.
