“As it was my first trip to Tonga, I contacted the hotel in advance for the Airport Shuttle Service which was 100 TOP for a round trip. Despite the return trip being at 2am, the driver was punctual.The payment would be in cash and the host informed me that there was an ATM at the airport. The hotel was a little way out from the downtown, but on the first day, someone was driving back into town and kindly gave me a lift. To return, a restaurant called me a taxi and I paid 10 TOP On the second……

“We came only because of a delay in our flight from Vavau to Tongatapu. But the short stay was so amazing. The hotel operators were very nice and kind, and helped accommodate our last-minute changes due to the flight uncertainty. We will come back again in future to watch the whales!”
