With the Adriatic within a stone\'s throw and a sea view to wake up to, this detached stone holiday house for 5 near Polje keeps things wonderfully simple. Days revolve around the water, and the fenced private garden, with its daybed for lazy afternoons, gives everyone room to spread out, while the covered terrace with its stone fireplace and barbecue is made for long outdoor dinners as the evening cools. Inside, timber beams and a warm country style run through two double bedrooms, a living room with a handy extra sofa bed, and a well-equipped kitchen with an induction hob, oven and coffee machine.

This holiday house sits by the sea near Polje, in the Dobrinj countryside on Krk\'s peaceful eastern side, with beach access just ten metres from the house and the secluded pebble cove of Petrina, prized for its crystal-clear water and blissful emptiness, within walking reach. The seaside village of Šilo covers the essentials with shops and cafés, and its sandy, child-friendly Pećine beach is a 12-minute drive away, while the shallow bay of Soline, known for its warm water and natural healing mud, is 17 minutes by car.
The east of the island rewards explorers. Dobrinj, a hilltop old town of narrow lanes and sweeping bay views, lies a short drive west, and Vrbnik, Krk\'s clifftop wine capital, pours its famous Žlahtina above the sea just 30 minutes away. Krk Town, the island\'s historic capital, is a 40-minute drive, and the island\'s most celebrated beach, the long Blue Flag sweep of Vela Plaža in Baška, makes a fine 45-minute day trip south.

Divers are especially spoiled here, as one of the Adriatic\'s most famous dive sites, the wreck of the Greek cargo ship Peltastis, lies just offshore between Šilo and Klimno at depths of 12 to 32 metres, with local dive centres in Šilo and Vrbnik running trips to the wreck and to beginner-friendly reefs off Punta Šilo. The nearest airport is Rijeka Airport at Omišalj, on the island of Krk itself, approximately a 25-minute drive from this holiday house.
