Perfectly located about one block from the main lifts, you'll enjoy easy access to skiing, dining, and year-round adventures. Perched on the upper level of Angelhaus, this inviting condo features breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding high peaks you can enjoy from your private east-facing balcony. Inside, you can gather around the cozy wood-burning fireplace after a day on the mountain, or relax in the comfortable living room while enjoying the views. The open dining area easily seats six, with additional bar seating at the granite kitchen counter. The fully equipped galley-style kitchen features updated appliances, perfect for preparing meals at home. Step outside to grill on the deck or soak in the complex's hot tub for a relaxing evening. For your convenience, coin laundry is available in the building. Double Diamond offers the perfect balance of comfort, views, and convenience. A fantastic home-base for unforgettable mountain getaways. WHERE YOU'LL SLEEP: \* Master Bedroom- King with TV and Ensuite Bath (Main Floor) \* 2nd Bedroom- Queen with TV (Main Floor) \* 3rd Bedroom- Two Twin Beds with TV (Main Floor) RESORT CLUB ACCESS: For an optional 4% resort fee, you will have access to the Durango Mountain Club which includes an outdoor heated pool with slide, outdoor hot tub and workout facility. The 4% resort fee included in the quote is the required resort fee that must be charged and does not allow access to the Durango Mountain Club. When booking, just advise if you would like the extra 4% resort fee added. PURGATORY SKI MOUNTAIN LOCATION: This condo is located at Purgatory Ski Resort in the San Juan Mountains. Purgatory is 25 minutes north of downtown Durango and is known as a family-friendly ski resort. It has 105 trails, including 5 terrain parks, over 1,500 skiable acres and 12 lift. The resort boasts an average annual snowfall of 260 inches. Purgatory Resort offers a variety of activities and amenities that cater to families, including ski lessons, childcare and a variety of restaurants. It is a more affordable option that some of the other ski resorts in Colorado, has a good mix of terrain for all ability levels, and stunning views. If you're looking for a resort that offers something for everyone, staying at this condo at Purgatory is a great option! SUMMER AT PURGATORY: Purgatory boasts a bike park accessible by chair lift, an alpine slide, mountain coaster, and treasure panning. There are also hiking trails, jeep tours, and watercraft rentals on Twilight Lake. Purgatory hosts various events throughout the summer, such as live music concerts, festivals and bike races. NO PETS: Due to HOA rules, the condo (and all condos in the building) is not pet friendly. Please do not bring your pets/emotional support animals. COOLING: Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s. It is on the third floor and you do not have an elevator so hiking up and down with all of your gear is a lot. Also, we could not find the washer and dryer area because it was likely in the basement, which would have been four floors below us. That was inconvenient and we never saw a pool or hot tub or anything like that. It was nice that it was only about two minutes from the lift. Able to pay a little extra to use resort facilities. Check in/out process was easy. Management company was little slow on responses, but responded in a decent amount of time. Now on to the condo. Went to make a quick dinner when we checked in and ended up having to wash all the dishes we needed to use. Silverware, plates, cups, not one thing we grabbed was dirty. Sat out on the porch, great view if you can get past the spiderwebs over everything. The decor is very outdated, everything seemed to be pieced together, and the condo had a very weird layout. The bathrooms were ok, other than the fact everyone in my family almost fell in the bathtubs every time. Very slippery, not safe for an older person who may not have the best balance. While I would say I would stay there again, I wouldn’t stay for the amount they were asking. Well equipped kitchen but some items in need of replacement. A few spices would be helpful. Found pepper and sugar but NO SALT. Bought some and left it there. Loved the streaming capability on tv. However, did NOT like the fact they only had public wifi access. Only other issue was ice build up out the front door. Property management really needs to look into fixing that. We were there after a big snow storm and had BEAUTIFUL weather causing lots of melting. Every morning the area outside the front door was a sheet of ice. This condo boasts of an amazing view from the balcony. It is only minutes away from the restaurants and all the fun summer activities on the ski resort. This was mid November.The lodge front desk was oblivious to the fact we were to receive passes for resort amnesties. It was pointless to pursue our passes.
