Premier Building at Purgatory - Ski in/Ski Out

  • Our 2 bedroom, 2 bath 1,250 sq ft condo (Unit 403) in Purgatory Lodge (Unit 403) offers the ultimate convenience in winter or summer, as it is located in the heart of Purgatory Village only 50 yards from the primary high-speed lift to the top of the mountain, the Purgatory Express. This is the finest ski-in/ski-out location at the resort and includes a ski locker close to the slopes.

    Purgatory Lodge contains Durango Mountain Resort's premium amenities including outdoor heated pool with slide, hot tub, workout facility, and family game room adjacent to a private restaurant and bar.

    The single level condo is located on the 4th floor (elevator access) and offers amazing views of the Needles Mountain Range and the ski resort. The condo was professionally decorated and each bedroom contains a flat screen TV as well as high end furnishings and linens.

    The home is pet friendly (2 pet max) and the pet fee is $40/day (Max $250).

    Book 7+ nights and a 10% discount is automatically applied.

    Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.

    The Lodge's upper floor, which includes the private bar and game room, is closed during the off-season when the ski resort isn't open (fall and April and May)

    Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

This condo is one of our family favorites, due to its reasonable pricing and proximity to ski lifts etc. There were a few things within the unti that could use some attention (light bulbs missing from lamps for one), but overall it was nice and clean. The Lodge itself could use some attention, however- broken items facilities throughout the Durango Mountain Club space, including soap and towel dispensers, and an incredibly foul odor coming from the changing rooms that made it completely unusable. We would like to return next year, and hope that these issues are resolved by then!

Delightful Vacation

This condo was perfect for our trip. Both couples felt they had their own suite, the kitchen was well equipped, and the living/family was cozy and warm with the gas fireplace. We ate in for lunches and breakfasts, and dined at the local restaurant every evening. So convenient. There was also a gated locked area for our skis at night, and a locker for our day boots and other sundries.

Beautiful getaway!

The setting and property are beautiful. The unit is nice and big but a bit dark due to the furniture and several lamps not working. Beds are comfortable and so is the sofa. The kitchen has basic cooking material but it would be hard to cook a big meal. Great for simple breakfast and lunches. The pool was freezing although it was supposed to be heated. The hot tub was great. The view from the patio was just beautiful.

The parking situation was not good. We had a trailer and was told to park it in one area only to get a warning the next day that we couldn’t park here overnight. Truck couldn’t fit in the parking space in garage. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay!

Very comfortable stay

Stayed at this nice property at foot of slopes at Purgatory. We had stayed here many years ago, and recall liking the parking, location and amenities. There was a lot of snow the days we stayed, so was nice to park in covered garage. The location can't be beat, walk out to lifts. Room had all needed amenities. It looked like the window blinds were in process of being replaced, but that did not impact our stay. Beds comfortable. Spacious bathrooms. Ski lockers are outside, so that is kind of a bummer. We enjoyed the lounge area and hot tub. Management company was great, quick in responding to inquiries - was able to add a day to our stay with no hassle. They sent several txt messages to check all ok. Easy check in at front desk. Would stay here again when visiting Pergatory.

At least, that is what I was told. I was then told to get on the phone and call the rental agency. I could not get them on the phone so the attendant called himself, which he could have done to begin with (I suspect a more direct line)and they finally got things straight. After that, everything went well. The condo was clean and comfortable.

That’s why we chose it. However, it needs updating. It was not super clean when we arrived....dusty on the furniture in the master bedroom, carpet looks dingy, bedding is old. There is very little lighting in the master bed and bath. The curtains in the master are impossible to open. We have stayed in other units in this building and felt they were more well kept.

location is great for accessing the ski area and shops

It is a very nice unit but there were some issues. The master bedroom was very nice, and the beds in both bedrooms were very nice. The second bedroom's closet had only 1 regular sized clothes hanger and 2 very small hangers for toddler size clothing. The owner has a security locked cabinet in that closet that takes up half of the available space and the other side has a shelf with multiple blankets stacked on top of it. We couldn't hang up any of our clothes in there, so we had to fold them and put into drawers of a dresser and the heavy jackets and ski clothes we just had to fold and stack on the floor. At very least there should be ample hangers in that closet. One of the window blinds is not working either. Given the price on the rental, those issues should be addressed.
