The Coach House is a two-bed Grade II Listed cottage in the beautiful Cotswold village of Coaley. Decorated in a clean and contemporary style with thoughtful touches throughout - a home away from home to make any break away a delight!
The space
The Coach House sits in the grounds of an Old Vicarage but is detached and self-contained, with its own entrance, self-check-in and off-street parking for up to two cars right by the door. Outside, it has a large garden which catches the mid-afternoon and evening sun – perfect for lazy evening barbeques on the garden furniture and BBQ provided.
The Coach House has two bedrooms – the spacious master (upstairs) with King Size bed and a second smaller bedroom (downstairs) which can be set up as a twin, trundle (for younger sleepers) or as a single – please advise your preference when booking.
Superfast Wifi is provided (phone signal otherwise in Coaley is patchy), together with a well-appointed kitchen and lounge area. Kitchen basics are provided inc. tea, Lavazza coffee pods for the coffee machine, sugar and condiments. The bathroom is a little bijou but provides a spacious and powerful shower (no bath).
A basket of wood is provided for those who want to snuggle up in the evening in front of the wood burning stove.
For those travelling with little people, a highchair, step stool and toilet seat can be provided. There is space in the upstairs bedroom (or downstairs if set up as a single) for you to bring your own cotbed. Please note that it’s not possible to put a stair gate on the spiral staircase, so young children will need to be supervised.
Other things to note
Coaley is a popular Cotswold Village with rural outlook known for its thriving community and award-wining pub – The Old Fox (Cotswold Pub of the Year 2022). The village has many amenities including a community shop, village hall, recreation ground and children’s playground. Surrounded on all sides by stunning open countryside, and close to the Cotswold way, there is no shortage of local walks and footpaths, including Coaley Peak and Cam Long Down. The market town of Dursley is only a 10-minte drive away, offering an array of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and cafes. Leisure facilities can be found locally, including Stinchcombe Golf Course and ‘The Pulse’ (gym, exercises classes and swimming pool).
Travel Links
The mainline Cam and Dursley railway station is only 2 miles away with direct trains to Bristol, Cheltenham and Birmingham. A short hop onto the A38 or M5 makes Coaley the perfect base to explore locally and further afield.
Other Things to Note
Regrettably, pets cannot be accommodated.
Please note the Coach House neighbours the local village primary school and playgroup, so some giggles can be heard in school time. We also keep a Rooster and a few chickens (fresh eggs available for a small fee – just ask!) so there may be a few cock-a-doodles in the morning around 8am – not too unsociable a time!
