We really enjoyed our stay. The food was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. Gleeson’s is centrally located in a surprisingly interesting town, Roscommon, that has a long and fascinating history. I recommend Gleeson’s highly to everyone without any hesitation!

The hotel is in a stunning location. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing stay with great food this is unbeatable. Staff are excellent, welcoming and humorous. And if you want fishing then it is perfect. We will go back.

I have no doubt this place has wonderful bedrooms, but the one we had, room 116, most certainly wasn't one of them. Hot, stuffy, poorly ventilated, a view of a poorly maintained fountain and a wall. There was what appeared to be an extractor in the shower but it didn't seem to go anything as the bathroom became steamy after even a short shower. I would have expected A/C in a hotel like this. Staff were friendly and helpful enough, breakfast was very good, as was the Brehon Bar. I understand that someone has to get stuck in the less good rooms, but the hotel will have to understand that people will write unfavourably about them when they are.
