"Had a wonderful time during our stay here in July. Rooms are very nice and have your basic needs. Husband Loved the fact we could put the boat in their Marina Where he was able to keep an eye out..and of course, the convenience of it all. The Beds were soft and comfy..The Breakfast Bar every morning was Awesome to Start the Day...I Loved the Pool, I Loved the Spa..I Loved it All! The Staff was very Nice and Polite. It was another Fabulous Chincoteague Vacation... And we will be back again soon! Thank You!!.

"staff was kind and accommodating. Location was great - walkable to town, the carnival and Assateague island was close by (driving). Ample parking. Pool was nice but we did not go to the pool.

"Beautiful cabin situated at the back of a farm, very peaceful. Very spacious and inviting. Only a half hour to Chincoteague and an hour to Ocean City. Nice porch with a swing and 2 chairs to sit out in the morning with a cup of coffee (coffee maker provided). We loved having a pool table for our evening entertainment.
Only thing we didn't like was the very tiny kitchen, absolutely no counter space at all :( "
"The house is beautiful, spotlessly clean and well equipped! Our family live the nightly sunsets and sitting on the dock for morning coffee. Plenty of room for relaxing too. The neighbors are so friendly and sweet. "

"John is an excellent host, very helpful and considerate. The cottage is well appointed, very clean and neat and is located on a little piece of paradise overlooking them a marsh on the edge of the Bay. It's quiet, peaceful, and we even greeted by a small family of deer as we returned in the evenings. No need to pick up paper goods, ziplocks, or plastic food storage containers because everything is right there, including a new Weber gas grill on the back porch as well as chairs to relax in and a patio table and chairs.The beds and pillows were very comfy and the water pressure in the shower was great! Big, fluffy towels and washing machine and dryer.It's a short drive over to Chincoteague but it's an easy trip through the countryside and we were able to leave the crowd on the Island each day and sleep peacefully at the cottage at night. John hooked us up with a wonderful local boat captain, C.L. Marshall, a knowledgable local with a passion for the community and life, and we enjoyed a trip to Tangier and to Smith Island where we ate fresh crab cake sandwiches and the famous Smith Island Cake of Maryland, for lunch in Tylertown at the Drum Point Mkt. We were able to book CL, Friday to watch the Pony Swim back to Assateague Island, because we got lucky and his group had an emergency and had to cancel. I can't thank John enough for his hospitality and guidance during our stay! 5Star Top Shelf host!!"

"Great little hotel for travelers going to Virginia Beach. Located right off the main highway. Very easy to get to. Surprisingly quiet with the highway nearby. Great staff as well. "
"The bay is directly in the backyard where you can see the sun set each evening from the house. There is a small beach that is sandy during low tide. If you want to wade in the bay, wear water shoes because there is glass that washes in from the bay. Mosquitoes are a problem, but it isn't just here. That's just the Eastern Shore in summer. If it is windy they aren't too bad if you use bug spray. But we didn't spend much time outside and didn't use the fire pit area, although it looked lovely.The house is as pictured. The king sized bed is a sleep number bed which took some getting used to for us. The bunk beds are double bed sized. The living room had a very comfortable sofa and a table with 6 chairs so there was plenty of room for us. The house could use a few more kitchen items like baking sheets, a pizza cutter, and some more glasses. We didn't try the water and just bought bottled water as advised in the listing.Saxis is peaceful and we enjoyed seeing the wading birds (and one evening a fox!) as we drove past the marsh coming in and out. Chincoteague is about 40 min away but the drive is easy."
